possible failed fuel pump from running dry in the tank. The plastic gears are very fine and without fuel to lubricate them they fail on a regular basis To rely on a low fuel light is asking for trouble from a number of sources in the car.

2005 equinox will start and stall

Sounds like a fuel filter that gets clogged with dirt and then gets unclogged when you put the fuel treatment in your gas tank. Love your car it needs a little TLC. Replace the fuel filter and make sure all fuel line connections are tight.

1995 gmc jimmy-won't accelerate wants to stall

could be the fuel pump ...you will need to do a fuel pressure test on it ..the pressure should be 63 anything lower even so much as a few lbs will cause this to happen ...as well if it sat that long i would consider a complete tune up and check all vacuum lines for dry-rot

Fuel pump problem,no noise, pressure, starts only by hammering btm tank

hi you need to check the pump at its outlet before it goes to the filter make sure its working if so and theres no fuel pressure at the regulator then the fuel filters blocked if the pumps not pumping which i suspect because you said when you banged on the bottom of the tank it started for a second or two now you have had a pump previous so the question is is the pump gone again and if so whats caused a second pump to go answer is there is something in the tank something blocking the pumps i would suggest take the pump out and test it in some clean fuel and drain the tank and clean it out and also replace the fuel filter best of luck yates210456
