Where is the ground wire to the power distribution center?

My 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a dead short in the power distribution center. When I measure across the Lug which connects the battery (wires removed) and ground I get 1.5 ohms (all relays pulled). Shouldn't this be an open circuit??? Which wire is the ground for the power distribution center???

Sounds as though you do have a very low ohm reading. With the pos and neg wires connected to the battery, are you blowing fuses or just discharging th battery? A way to isolate shorts that drain the battery is to pull the fuses and see which circuit eliminates the low ohm reading. This is assuming that the ignition key is in the off position. An example would be any light that would operate with the key off. Like the trunk, hood, glove compartment, cig lighter, ECT. Pulling fuses is the only way to isolate.
Light bulbs have very low resistance but are controlled by a switch and should remain off unless called go to be turned off. Good luck with your troubleshooting.

Sounds like your blower motor rheostat needs to be replaced. I'm about to replace mine for the second time. Fan just quits working altogether when the rheostat goes.

If you had a short that large before you started working on the batt cables, it would have burned long before it did. Check your work over and see where it's grounding. You can make a temporary link by using a new piece of wire the same as the gauge at both ends of the link and sectioning in a short piece of smaller ga. wire. Hopefully you didn't damage the alternator or other electronics. The original problem sounds like possibly the fuel pump anti drain-back valve is bad (integral with pump) Testing pressure will verify that.
You can disconnect alternator, but the fuse method you mentioned sounds more reasonable.

SOURCE: 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee power window wire broken

Your best way in is through the kick panel on the side. I generally solder an additional length of wire on and before connecting to other end, slide a piece of thin tubing (like washer fluid line) over it. After soldering the other end, slide the tubing over the repair and put a dab of silicone or other glue on the wire just before you have it all the way in position. Doing this protects the repair and the wire from further failure.Make sure you secure any extra wire inside the door where the window regulator won't grab it and tear it out.

The problem is likely your neutral switch on the side of the tranny. Wires may have melted and shorted to ground or switch itself may have terminal shorted to ground.

Radio and center car instrument panel went out changed fuse and it blew out upon connecting

You have a dead short somewhere. Try disconnecting the radio and replacing the fuse. If the fuse blows you'll know that radio isn't the problem. Try accessing and inspecting the wiring, you may have a grounded wire somewhere.
