I was using a small air compressor to inflate the tires on my 98 Toyota 4Runner and it appeared that the fuse blew, however this was not the case-I checked the fuse in the air compressor and the fuse (#1) in the engine compartment, no success. Both outlets are not working. There is another fuse looking item above Fuse #1 (Engine Compartment), that says Power Outlet on it. I have taken apart the dash area to see the connection which looks connected properly. Any suggestions???
Replace the 15 amp ACC fuse that is in the fusebox under the dash. See if this eliminates your problem.
Sure. I'll be glad to help.
The black box is the power outlet relay. It is powered by the PWR Outlet fuse. The power is transmitted by the ACC fuse. In other words, BOTH fues must be good in order for the outlets to operate. Did you check the fuses with a test light? The graciousess of a FixYa rating would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Please let me know what you find later. We'll get this sorted out.
I have a toyota camry 2009 Le. Two power outlets have stopped working suddenly. I changed the 20A fuse but it is not solved yet. What could be the solution?

I have a 1998 Tacoma, and it each power outlet quit working, months a part, and then the cigarette lighter quit working; all after using an air compressor. There is no ACC fuse under the dash nor in the engine compartment. I have checked all the fuses with a meter, all are good. I have also checked for power at the fuse, and there is 12 volts there, but no power at the power outlets nor cigarette lighter.

I looked at the fuses under the dash (on the left of the steering wheel) and they looked Good as well. Does this fuse handle more functions then just the power outlets (cigarette lighter)?
Also can you help with the function of the fuse (black square box) above Fuse #1 in the engine compartment (It says Power Outlet) on the outside of cover (for the fusebox)??
Thank you, I will attempt this later today and yes I do have a test light to use...I will be happy to provide a rating.
i did the same exact thing. I thought i blew out the front. Then i blew out the back outlet. They did not go out at the same time. All the fuses seem to be intact. How do i fix it?
