The filters need to be pumped with fuel, should show you hoe in the owners manual; empty filters cause the same effect as running out of diesel.

SOURCE: car wont start on 206

you must fill the fuel filter housing with diesel to eliminate air pocket. if you don't have diesel, fill it with automatic transmission fluid. it will smoke for a few seconds, but it will run so fuel pump can catch up. don't touch throttle for a few seconds till you know that it is running on diesel and the tranny fluid is all used up.

SOURCE: diesel ford will crank but wont start acts like

If you have the 6.0 ltr diesel, then check the bowl where the 2nd fuel filter is, see if there is fuel in the bowl, if not then either your fuel pump which is on the frame under the driver's side in the water seperator/ heater has gone bad, or your filters could be bad, or the fuse to the fuel pump or the pump shut off switch which is located on the side panel at your feet on the passengers side, there is a reset button, make sure it has not popped and press it down, hopefully this helps, I had the same prob.

SOURCE: Which relay is the fuel pump relay?

The fuel pump relay switch, if that is what you are looking for, is actually a red button hidden underneath the hood latch. We just had to do the same thing and that will fix it. Just press the red button and you should be fine.

SOURCE: 2004 Dodge ram diesel just die out of the blue.

Michael- I just had the same think happen to my 2004 Dodge just yesterday. The dealership tells me it's the transfer pump, but it now requires it to be moved from the side of the engine to the fuel tank. The parts seem to be scarce, and may take a little over a week for me to get them here in Boston, and the total job is $1100. Hope you got your's fixed.

Diesel 6 0l

Every diesel has an electric solenoid that shuts the fuel off when you turn the key off. I suspect that is your problem but I don't know where it is exactly on a Ford. It should be mounted on or near the injector pump.

Dodge 2500 diesel wont start

This one is easy. When you remove the filter for service and are ready to install the new filter, fill the filter with transmission fluid. Yes, you read that right, transmission fluid. I am an ASE certified master technician, this will stop the air bubbles that are introduced into the fuel system, and causing the fuel system to lose it's prime.

Since the air is already introduced into your system, on the side of the engine (driver's mostly on the same area of the filter) there is a rubber boot covering a PRIMING button. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO START YOUR TRUCK AT THIS TIME!!! DIESEL FUEL IS UNDER EXTREME PRESSURE WHICH CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURIES!!! PLEASE, pay attention to this warning!! crack the seal on the filter open, remove the filter, fill the filter with transmission fluid, re-install the filter, and then prepare yourself to push that rubber button for some time, perhaps as long as five to ten minutes. When the button gets extremely hard to push, the system should be primed. Remove all tools and your hands from area, and attempt to start the engine. If it doesn't start, go back to the rubber button, and reprime the fuel system. Sometimes the process may take as many as ten attempts before it starts.

Hope it helps!
Warmest regards,
Elwin

1994 F350 WILL NOT START

you simply have to bleed the fuel lines...

to do that just loose up the line and have someone rotate the engine until you have some fuel going there...

make sure that your fuel filter is full because you will do this for nothing...

it should only take like 5 minutes of bleeding...
