2005 chevy cobalt 2.2 is running rough (putting)
Number three cylinder is miss fire,it does not mean it is the coil, although it could be,remove the coil, and boot, and spark plug, inspect them to see if the plug,or boot look bad, replace the spark plug, and if the boot is burned or distorted, replace it,a fuel injector can cause a miss fire also, but change the spark plug and see if this solves the problem,if not replace the coil,if it is a dead miss, then the coil might be bad,as for the water in the fuel ,the cap is missing,,and 5 dollars worth of HEET will not hurt, also, fuel from the fuel station, can have water in it.It happens a lot.
engine light switches from blinking to staying on - car cutting back & cuts off when brakes applied or in park, just 1 of numerous car problems
I only recently took possesion of this car (two days ago from my sister who said she hasn't had any problems) and the first day driving it was completely normal, but the second day as soon as I turned the engine on the "check engine" light began blinking and the car was making a "winding" kind of noise. As I slowed at a stop light the car began to pulsate a bit and as I came to a complete stop the pulsating became more harsh. This happened with every stop. On the highway I had to pretty much put the gas pedal to the floor in order to reach 70mph. I set the cruise control and the car struggled to keep this speed (even driving with no incline). I had an eerily similar issue with a '96 Ford I owned in highschool known as the "blinking light of transmission death" by everyone I talked to about it. *sadness*
car starts up ok, but engine light blinks on, engine shakes and runs rough, and seems to not have power and wont go up a hill. Also black stuff spits out of exhaust pipe and smells like sulfur. Just filled up with gas 2 days before problem. Also reads 54% oil life.
Same problem, my power steering started going out a couple of weeks ago, now this. Car won't go, sputters like the engine isn't hitting on all cylinders or something. Replacing the ignition module and coil are our next tries here. The power steering still won't be fixed though! Have read literally HUNDREDS of comments online of people with the same problem. Can't believe GM won't stand behind this. I filed complaints with GM, the FTC and went to the following site: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/chevy-c.... My car only has just over 60,000 miles on it. This is crazy.
