Fuel injector fuse is blown, keeps blowing. Engine turns but won't catch and start.

It was driving fine, and then suddenly the engine died shortly after exiting the freeway. Fuel pump seems to be fine, but the fuel injector fuse is blown and when replaced, blows again.

If the injector fuse is blown then the car won`t start as its not getting fuel into the motor to fire.if the fuse keeps blowing then you could have an injector/s that is drawing too much or the injector driver in the ecm may not be any good and needs replacing or a used ecm.it could be a short some where in the wiring for the injector system that is going to ground.

SOURCE: car starts then dies

Your antitheft system is shutting it down. You need to reprogram it. First hook up a battery charger. Then turn the key on. The security light should blink on and off. Leave the key on for 10 minutes. At the end of ten minutes, the security light will stop blinking. When it does turn the key off for five seconds. Then turn the key on. Repeat the 10minutes. Turn the key off then on. Repeat the 10 minutes a third time. At the end of the 3rd ten minute period , start the truck. It should be reprogrammed and continue to run.

I have a 1999 Legacy. Died while I was driving. Oil didn't register on dip stick. Won't start now. It turns over fine. Has power, compression, oil & fuel pressure is good. Plugs are dry(Not saturated)....

Could have overheated because low on oil, the engine may not start until the computer is reset, a safty feature which keeps the engine from damage in such cases., Take it to a mechanic to reset the computer if you think the oil being low was the main issue.

I changed the fuel pump but the van still won't

And you know the fuel filter is good? Could be injector problem: just as a check, spray some starting fluid into the intake and see if engine runs a few seconds. If it does, it is a fuel problem. Check injector fuse, as a start. Check fuel pressure. Check injector circuit. If engine won't start with starting fluid, check if you are getting spark. Problem may be in the ignition system.

I replaced my fuel pump when my 1999 yukon wouldn't start one day. Now still won't start and I replaced the fuel filter. There is pressure but no gas getting to the engine. Don't know w

Guessing when you say pressure that you have fuel pressure and that the fuel pump is working but the injectors aren't pulsing and injecting fuel into the cylinders. The way your fuel system works is that you should have constant power at each injector and the vehicles computer (the ECM) gets readings from different sensors and send a quick ground pulse in order to complete the circuit. each time the ECM sends a ground pulse, that's when the injector injects fuel so the ground signal/pulse is quick (on and off, one and off..you get the idea). The first thing I would do if your fuel pump is pumping and you have fuel pressure is check the fuse. The fuse you want to check should be a 20 amp fuse in the fuse panel under the hood of the vehicle in the engine compartment. Below is a diagram of the fuse layout and I have marked the fuse you need to check (the ECM 1 fuse). If that fuse is blown you will not have that constant power at the injectors. If blown replace and that should solve the problem unless it blows again which would mean you have a short. If it isn't blown make sure you have power at all time when the key is on. The pink wire at each injector should be the power wire. If no power you need to locate the open wire for that circuit (coming from that fuse to each injector). This is where I would start. If you need further instructions as far as any more testing procedures, reply/comment here or feel free to email me directly at [email protected]. Hope it's as simple as a fuse for your sake and I hope this helped.

I have a dawoo matiz car .790cc year 2000.wich keeps blowing the e.c.m fuse and this cuts off the fuel supply. sometimes it starts ok then suddenly it blows again i checked the fuel pump and seems

Check exactly when you do have a blown fuse as you are driving and in turning or as you driving normally. Also check the wires between E.C.M and Engine. The fuel Supply cuts off surely as soon as the E.C.M Fuse is blown because the fuel supply is going through the E .C. M.

Stop on stop sign engine died

If the engine won't fire up, but your starter turns over, you may want to check your timing unless you have a check engine light on. If the CEL light is on, have the codes scanned.

If the engine won't turn over with the starter or it clicks, have your battery tested at autozone or advanced auto parts. Replace the battery if it is bad. Else, have your starter tested.

If the engine still won't turn over and the battery and starter are tested fine, you may have a blown fuse, bad ignition switch, or a failed relay.

If the engine fires up but randomly dies and starts back up, you either have a failed sensor, failing fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, bad plugs or wires, or a failing ECU.
