Working on a 2008 dodge avenger with a 2.4. I replaced the alternator because something was broken inside (sounds like its full of rocks) but the batery light is sill on. I have power at the large wire on the threaded post but do not have power at either of the 2 small wires at the plug in.
Look in the fuse block, driver's side, forward corner of engine bay under the hood. I think the lid on the little box has the diagram underneath it, to locate the alternator fuse. Check all your fuses there, too.
I think the small plug-in connector with two wires on the alternator would be for the voltage regulator, wouldn't it?

it's DOT 4 or DOT 5 check with your manual and sometimes it's even in the fluid fill cap.

There should be a diagram under your hood on the radiator support.

Open the hood and you will see the fuse box! Under the fuse box lid is a diagram, look for fuse slot # 20

there is 2 bolts on top 1 top outer and 1 top front behind grill, u need to remove the top center black cover and 1 bottom side outer need to remove the inner finder liner to get to the 3rd bolt.
