I have a 2003 Chevrolet 2500HD and my dash gauges have quit working but, my digital read out is still working (Fuel mileage, Odometer, etc...). What could this be?
In my case, simply removing and reseating the IPC/DIC fuse restored the gauges to full functionality.
I had my instrument cluster repaired by Mr Whizard this summer as several of the guages were intermittently failing, The recent failure of the entire cluster (as above) was fixed by pulling and replacing the IPC/DIC Fuse.
2005 silverado - guages not working , no odometer diplay
Chevrolet recalled the instrument cluster about a year ago.
Had mine replaced ~3 years ago out-of-pocket (2004 2500HD Duramax) and Chevy reimbursed me after sending them my receipts.
take it to dealer and ask about recall. they should replace at no cost...if the problem is actually the cluster.
There are known issues with the gauges on the 03 silverado. Even though the cages appear analog, they are stepper motor controlled by the computer. This is a fancy way of saying digital. Check with the dealer about a recall! Since all gauges appear to have quit at one time I would agree with a previous post that the computer program is flawed. It may need to be reset - again check with the dealer.
I have a 2002 chevy 2500hd 4x4 my fuel, trans temp, and engine temp, gear select and message center flashes what is the problem it happens and stops and starts up again went almost a year and started again
I have the same truck with the same problem please post if you find the problem.
one or more of the stepper motors are bad or have developed bad solder joints this is what is causing your problem the reason the message center is flashing is your cluster is bad enough to actually have caused a short problem to the bcm or body control module it is flashing because this module is detecting a high voltage input if your cluster is not repaired or replaced soon it will take out the bcm and your repair cost will skyrocket

Check your fuses.
Dorman has a rebuilt unit for @ $190.00 plus core. You need your Vin and miliage when you order Part # 599-300 is just one of the available part numbers

My truck just started with the gauges not working.
2003 Duramax, 198,000 miles on it. This morning, first time ever, all gauges inop. Everything else normal. Doubt it's the computer; seems an illogical conclusion at this point. Will check fuses/relays later today.
04 2500 HD DURAMAX DASH PROBLEMS. Tach works for awhile then stops altogether, will work when I drive the next time.
Know my oil gauge is acting up. Checked with GM dealer, they informed me that the warranty on the dash ran out at 70,000mi. (85000) when my problems started. Whole panel has to be replaced.
2003 silverado duramax all guages and digital display quit working, approx 90000 miles.
