Factory amp where is it located?

Question edited for clarity.

This is not a North American model where we are. They hide them in the rear side panels.

All the Fords I have ever been into have the factory amp mounted in the trunk, just below the rear seat package tray.

In the trunk up next to wheel wells. Start peeling carpet out of the trunk walls and you will find it. The rear speaker wires run right to it.

Please beware that only the 10 speaker systems have a factory amp. The stock 6 speaker systems run straight off of the factory radio. You can buy a factory amp bypass harness for this model at any good car audio shop.

If they didn't replace with factory amp,cars regular speaker wire will not give good sound.You will have to use better speaker cables

I want to know where the factory amp is located on a 1997 ford expidition

not sure how large amp is but need to find an out of the way place to locate. then figure where you want the speakers located.on the larger amps the amount of power will destroy factory speakers. If you put the amp in the back locate the factory speakers[ left and right channel] that are
closest to the amp
and connect input wires to the exisitng speakers .now you have input to the amp and factory speakers are safe. install new speakers from the output side of amp and you have done the hard part,... now you need to have power to the amp and depending on how much you need ,it may have to come from the battery. 2 things very important because direct power from battery can cause electric shorts ,you must have some type of in line fuse to protect the system
and a switch to turn off amp.if amp is on all the time ,it will run the battery down overnight.Let me know if that helps

There is a factory amp in this vehicle. It is located in the rear behind the plastic wheel panel under the rear passanger window.

The factory amp is located under the steering column. Here is a pic. Good luck!
