2005 chevy cobalt LS 2.2L. I cleaned the TB with Sea-Foam on a rag, now it idles around 1700-2100 rpm's. I've rechecked my work multiple times and nothing. There is a lot of talk about this issue but I have not found any solutions. I even tried replacing my TB and found no change. Any ideas??? -Thanks.

Hi evanpmorris, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? Did you check the idle air control valve? Purge valve failed open?

SOURCE: 2005 chevy cobalt washer fluid issues

Sounds like a bad washer pump .The windshild washer pump is sometimes mounted to the bottom of you washer container, sometime there inline with the washer hose .. Did you have to reconnect wires when you put in the new winshield washer container in? Also before you go buy a new one i would check to see if you have any voltage to the pump when you activate switch..
Please rember to leave me a good rating if I've helped you ! Thankyou .Let me know!

SOURCE: idle too high on a 06 cobalt

when you clean it make sure that you hold the butterfly open so you can get the spots clean that need it. If there is anything in the way the butterfly will not close. Just a small bit of dirt will do this .

Nissan 240sx 1995 chugging air & stalls @ lights

I had a very similar problem to the one you're having in my 90 single cam. Seems to be kinda notorious with 240sx. Step one buy yourself some maf cleaner. Has to be maff cleaner not carb cleaner. Disconnect battery. Unplug maf sensor and take out maf using a screw driver and/ or a 10mm wrench. Place maf on towel and spray liberally about 6 inches away. Don't use anything to clkean it just use the spray. Let it dry and plug everything back in. Step 2. buy some carb/ throttle body cleaner. Remove hose between tb and plastic intake hose and spray tb cleaner in tb. Rag off whatever dirt you can get. Now turn on car and with sonmone reving var to 2k spray 2 second bursts of tb cleaner into tb cleaner following label instructions. Continue doing untill you see no more dirt. Turn off car. Step 3. Remove aicv. (Air idle control valve. This is attached to tb by 4 10mm bolts. Be easy with these as not to break them in the tb. Once aicv is removed place on rag and using carb and tb cleaner spray liberally. Make sure you get all nooks and crannies. Let dry for 20 mins and replace. Lastly replace engine coolant temp sensor. Its 12 bucks at autozone and take 1 your on your dual cam. There are many write ups on zilvia and 240sx forums for this. Lastly set idle to 700 rpm by disonnecting trottle sensor and adjusting the screw on the aicv to 700. And then plugging the trottle sensor back in. This shgould fixc your idle problems and stalling proiblems. If not email me at [email protected]. I'll give you more suggestions. Let me know if this works

I have a 1995 chevy lumina 3.1 and upon starting the engine will either hesitate and die or it will idle and when i press the accelerator it hesitates and then the engine dies...what could this be?

you need a tune up...plugs, possible wires too, they might have a lot of carbon tracking deposits on them ...clean (IAC) sensor, if you"ve never cleaned it, believe me it"ll be dirty.. and then make sure you completely clean you throttle body too inside and out! but wait an hour after before starting to let it air dry...clean air filter or replace it, and replace fuel filter if it hasn"t been replace in a long time. also after you"ve done this purchase a can of Sea Foam fuel system cleaner $10 and pour 1/2 can into 1/2 tank of gas and drive around even if its running "a little rough", for about 30 minutes and this should clean out any fuel injectors that may be possibly clogged up! if you you cant drive the car but will idle only after cleaning (idle air control), pour some seafoam in the tank and let it idle for about ten minutes then try to see if it will run. If none of this works then you probably have a fuel pump not putting out the correct pressure!

Code P0506, Idle control system RPM low

It's common that you get a lot of carbon build up at the base of the throttle body. Give it a good spray cleaning with injector cleaner and dry it with a hair dryer. If you find it still to dirty, you can try it again with a second can or if you can try using Sea Foam that you can buy at an auto parts store like Auto Zone. The Sea foam will clean out the carbon but also create a lot of smoke.
When i say lot's of smoke, just do a search on You Tube for Sea Foam. Good luck and hope this helps.

2000 Saturn LS, high idle durning cold weather. (2500 rpm)

Scan for codes, post any that are found, it could be a bad TPS sensor. Could also be a build up of carbon on the top (valve) portion of the engine. Try a few cans of "Sea Foam" through the intake manifold.
