What does the R1 fuse do on 98 Mystique
Don't know where you see R-1 , ford use's F-1 80 amp fuse under hood fuse box . Fuse F-4 20 amp located in the under hood fuse box supply's battery voltage to the ignition coil . The crankshaft position sensor is what triggers the coil's . The crankshaft position sensor receives is power (voltage) from the PCM - engine computer . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop.
My heat is not working in my mercury mystique 98 but it blows out cold air
If the coolant temp gauge is in it;s usual position when driving(at least 1/3 way up) then flush the heater core with a garden hose.Clamp off the heater hoses,remove them from the heater core and flush back and forth a few times until flow is good,reattach heater hoses and you should have heat as long as the heat/cold airflow door is in the heat position in the heater assembly under the dash.

Check all of the fuses located in the black box under the hood close to the battery on top of the inner fender. All power to the car begins there. Check for large fuses 30 amp to 60 amp. Make sure the heater fan is left unplugged. When working on components under the dash always disconnect the ground cable from the battery
The heater and a/c quit working on my 1998 Mercury Mystique.
Could be a fuse/relay in the electrical box under the hood. Take the lid off and flip it over. You should see a diagram of what relay control's what. If not it will be in the owners manual or search it up on google.it could be the fan/blower motor went bad or just the resistor for the fan/blower motor.

P0300 code changed spark plugs p0302
Cylinder 2 is misfiring. Spark plug could be faulty or spark plug wire could have broke internally if you didn't replace them at the same time. Swap cylinder 1 and 2s spark plugs clear code and drive again. If Same code comes back plug is good look at wire if code p0301 come up the spark plug is no good
