My 1991 Grand Caravan did that too. It had the 3.3L engine just the the T&C (91-93). The tensioner was the problem, hit a puddle on the right side and you'd feel the power steering go and then right away the engine would start to heat up. I tried making the belt come off, but could never duplicate it, only splashing through puddles of rain or wet slush would do it. I never found a tensioner with shoulders on it, but a new one like the original fixed it.

Check behind the battery case. The acid from the battery could eat through the wire harness that goes to the computer. It may do all kinds of crazy stuff. Horrible place for the computer. Good luck.

When was fuel filter changed last? Has fuel pressure been tested?
