Sounds like you may be experiencing one of a few possible issues. If you have an external fuel filter, you may consider in replacing this first. If the filter is part the fuel pump inside the fuel tank, may have to replace the entire unit. Might need to drop the tank from the vehicle if you do not have a was to access from the inside. Do you have any codes in your ECM ?

take it to an accredited diesel shop for a proper diagnosis getting used units is a waste of money as they will have the same problem get the shop to service yours or have them fit exchange units

Not quite sure where to go from here, but have you tried this: With the engine running, lube the idler pulley shaft with WD-40 or the like. If the noise stops or subsides, you have likely found the problem. If not, you know to look elsewhere. Best of luck.

These are all good ideas but I have done everyone of them. Jim

First remove the clutch fan. Big nut on the front of the pump. Use a long wrench and hammer to knock it loose. I also heat the nut up some, this softens the locktite on the pump and nut, easier to break loose. Once off lay it in the shroud. Remove the bolts to the shroud and lift them both out at the same time. This gives you easy access to the pump. Drain the coolant. remove the hoses. Look at the new pump to see where the bolt pattern is, remove the old pump, clean the engine surface. Razor blade works. Reinstall. A couple of hours work.

I am not familiar with this particular vehicle, but, most vehicles have a system where the wiper motor directly drives one wiper and the other wiper is driven either by a cable or mechanical linkage to a gear box. Look for the linkage/cable first, then the gearbox.
