Some factory and aftermarket alarms lock the doors as you shift out of Park, or the car goes faster than 7-10 MPH, and unlock when shift to Park, or turn off ignition. If you have the option to cancel this option and lock the doors manually, then you know the signal input wire(s) have loose connection and are the culprits.

Why doesn't emergency brake work?
no linings on the shoes
disc callipers seized in the hand brake operation
no pads if disc brakes
out of adjustment
bad cables under the car
Both rear wheels lock up after driving and getting hot.
replace that caliper! and check if that hose to it is good as well by bleeding the system afterwards
sometimes, also, check to see if the parking brake mechanism on both sides are working too because you said BOTH rear wheels are locking up
now you'll either need to scuff up the new pads and rotors to "deglaze" them after you repair the broken caliper
2004 Chevrolet Malibu front end hum
I think your right that its a bad bearing or hub. If your feeling it in the gas pedal and the floor, its most likely the front. If you can find an empty parking lot, try to get up to the speed it starts making the noise, and turn left and right. With the extra load being put on each bearing from turning, that will tell you which side it is.
