Check for spark at the plug wires to spark plugs, no spark on anything, then suspect a fouled job replacing the cam position sensor.

My advice is to avoid the car part stores chepo manuals like haynes and chilton, as they cover too broad a selection of vehicles in one manual. Go online and seach for factory service manuals. These manuals cost about $130 but are more specific to your vehicle, and they cover everything. Another option is www.alldatadiy.com . If you think whatever it is is dirty or worn just replace it. It may cost more in the short term, but your vehicle will last in the long term.

Cooling fans run with key off and motor cold.2006

You will need to look up the temperature sensing switches. There will be some for the computer, some for any guages on your dash, and 1 or 2 for your fans. Go to the dealers parts counter, and ask for a parts breakdown. If they are nice they will print off a detailed picture of the sensors. Most likely a bad sensing switch, or a shorted contact.

My 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3 L engine surges

a bank 1 or a bank 2 generally means an 02 sensors bad. or you may simply have a faulty gas cap. i would try the gas cap 1st,make sure it's tight, the engine running for a few minutes, then cut engine off. then open gas cap,do you hear pressure [air] releasing from the fuel tank? ok if not that, then if bank 2 is really bad, your check engine light would be on. but if the idle control sensor is bad,no light would be on at all. and it[engine] would idle up and down.or would'nt idle at all,or would idle up and down, just like what you've described. good luck and thank you for choosing fixya.com and please let me know if i'ved assisted you!

How do i replace the

normally its not the LED that goes out, its one of the 3 resistors along the edge of the circuit board that burns out , Chevy won't fix them, they say replace the entire cluster, however, if you have the blue connectors that house the bulbs,, you can get replacement bulbs very close to the ones in the vehicle at any radio shack, I had mine soldered in by a TV repair guy for 10 bucks

the light only stays on when the system is having a current problem, the only way to make it stay off is have it scanned for codes, and then the system codes diagnosed and repaired, it could be as easy as a bad connection

How do I replace brake

The bulb, or the full assembly?

If just the bulb, it's easy. Lower the tailgate. On the inside you will see the 2 hex screws that hold the assembly in place. Remove those carefully so you don't lose the nut inside the body, and carefully pull the assembly out. The main brake light is at the top, just twist the socket and pull gently. The bulb just pulls out of the socket.

DO NOT TOUCH THE NEW BULB GLASS! It will cause it to burn out much faster.

Replace the bulb in the housing, and then test it. Once it works, reverse the steps. Also, do not do this if it is very humid or rainy outside. The moisture can get into the assembly, and cause an early failure due to condensation. If you see water inside, take it apart and let it sit in the open to dry out. Then put it back in.

Run out of gas on

I take it you mean it WILL crank(turnover) but wont start. Anyway, Your problem may be a lack of fuel pressure. Could be the filter is now clogged. Trapped air in fuel lines, and fuel rails. Most GM vehicles have a schrader valve on one of the fuel rails. It looks similar to a tire valve stem. You could turn the key to on, make sure you hear the pump in the tank running. It will run a few seconds to pressurize the fuel system, and run continuously after the engine starts. Using a fuel pressure gage to check pressure and depress the valve carefully to visually see if fuel or air is present. Dont position yourself to be sprayed with gas.

Most late model vehicles wont arm the ignition(spark) systems unless there is correct fuel pressure, among other things. Something you may not know is that most all fuel tanks have a reserve of 1 to 3 gallons of fuel in the tank that wont register on the gage. Putting in 1 or 2 gallons most likely is not enough to prime the system. Hope this helps.
