04 Chev Epica, will not start, no 4 ways no turn

I had a similar problem recently with my Epica. During extremely cold weather I tried to use the windscreen washers which were frozen. This blew a fuse within the interior fuse box which controls the wipers, indicators etc. This also activated the flashing red security light on the display. The vehicle was still running but when I truned off the engine it refused to start again. Required to change the fuse (which from recollection is the 3rd down on the right - 10amp) before it would work again. Eventually blew again so replaced it with a 15amp fuse and been working fine ever since....

What is the gap for an 04 impala spark plug

The gap depends on which motor you have and what kind of plug. Irecommend staying with the original brand and number. My 2002 Impala w/ 3.8L has a 0.060" gap on it's plugs. According to Autozone, the gap for the 2005 3.4L or 3.8L is also 0.060".

I changed my water pump on my 2004 3.4 Impala I forgot to disconnect the negative terminal after I got it changed I went to start my car And I have no ignition power?

Anti-theft has nothing to do with it ,disconnecting the battery won't do anything either . You left something disconnected or by not disconnecting the battery you blew a main fuse somewhere some how. You had to take a few things apart to get at the water pump. You need to find battery power distribution wiring diagrams an check with a voltmeter. I have a 2004 CHEVY IMPALA won't start but cranks

Have u checked the catalytic convert in the exhaust or the muffler to be sure they are not plugged. If one of them are it will not allow fuel to be pulled into the engine. I had the same problem with my truck and when I put starting fluid in it would run.

3.8l. Cranks. Why doesn't it start?

Hello. It seems your catalytic converter is 'clogged'. Exhaust gases can't 'escape'; remaining 'trapped' before the catalytic converter. I, highly recommend, to stop using starting fluid for this particular problem; doing so may cause a 'flash fire'. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

all around the cylinder block and in the head as well ,look and you will fine plus one at the back of the engine behind the flywheel and its always this one that leaks first ,gearbox out for this one

3.8L V6. Why doesn't it start?

Hooking up a professional type scan tool an doing a full computer system scan would be the thing to do . This would check for codes in all the modules on the vehicle , BCM , PCM / ECM , ABS , Air bag, instrument cluster , radio , HVAC - heating an A/C etc... Could have a module bring down the serial data network . Do you know what that is (data network) ? You should also know what happens when you turn the key to start . Also checking the 5 volt reference circuit from the PCM/ECM .In modern vehicle design, 5-volt reference signals/circuits are a key aspect of vehicle command and control. As summarized by Gary Goms, the 5-volt reference signal typically "flows through a sensor containing a resistance that varies according to changes in temperature, pressure or position. https://cloreautomotive.com/blog/troubleshooting-5v-reference-circuits/#:~:text=In%20modern%20vehicle%20design%2C%205-volt%20reference%20signals%2Fcircuits%20are,according%20to%20changes%20in%20temperature%2C%20pressure%20or%20position. Cylinder head bolt torque sequence-3.4L engine

  • Cylinder head by aligning it with the dowel pins
  • New cylinder head bolts coated with a sealant (such as GM 1052080). Torque the bolts in the proper sequence (1-8) to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm). Using a torque angle meter turn the bolts 90 degrees in the proper sequence.
  • Left side exhaust manifold. Torque the bolts to 12 ft. lbs. (16 Nm).
  • Spark plugs. Torque the plugs 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).


  • Right side rear cylinder head:

  • New cylinder head gasket
  • Cylinder head on top of the gasket and make certain it is lined up properly with the dowel pins

  • Lower intake manifold. Torque the bolts to 115 inch lbs. (13 Nm).
  • Upper intake manifold. Torque the bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).

    Where is the 7x crankshaft position sensor on a 2004 chevy impala 3400 engine. Are there any tricks that I need to know to change it?

    Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor B (LA1) Middle rear of the engine, below the exhaust manifold Turn the steering wheel fully to the left. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information. Remove the right front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector. Remove the CKP sensor bolt. Remove the CKP sensor. Inspect for wear, cracks, or leakage if the sensor is not being replaced. • Crankshaft position (CKP) sensors The CKP sensor B is a variable reluctance sensor. The magnetic field of the sensor is altered by a crankshaft mounted reluctor wheel that has seven machined slots, six of which are equally spaced 60 degrees apart. The seventh slot is spaced 10 degrees after one of the 60 degree slots. This sensor provides the ignition control module (ICM) with 7X signals, or seven pulses for each revolution of the crankshaft. The pulse from the 10 degree slot is known as the sync pulse. Both of the sensor circuits are connected to the ignition control module (ICM). A signal converter within the ICM produces digital 3X output pulse to the powertrain control module (PCM), the 3X reference is known as the low resolution engine speed signal. The CKP sensor A contains a hall-effect switch. A hall-effect switch is a solid state switching device that produces a digital ON/OFF pulse when a rotating element passes between the sensor tip and a magnet. This rotating element is called an interrupter ring or blade. In this case the interrupter ring has 24 evenly spaced blades and windows and is part of the crankshaft damper assembly. This sensor provides the PCM with 24X signals, or 24 identical pulses per crankshaft revolution. The 24X signal is used for enhanced smoothness and idle stability at a lower calibrated RPM. The PCM supplies the sensor with a 12-volt reference, low reference, and signal circuit.

    Disable theft mode on 2004 chevy impala

    The security, antitheft or lock picture/icon is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle.     Tag light is not working.

    The fuse labeled REAR PARK LP 15A in the right instrument panel fuse box powers the rear park lamps, and the tag lamps. If your rear park lamps are working then you most likely need to replace the tag lamps (bulbs). Use the following procedure to replace the lamps.

    To Remove:
    1. Remove the two mounting screws from the license plate lamp.
    2. Remove the license plate lamp from the rear bumper fascia.
    3. Remove the license plate lamp socket by turning it counterclockwise.
    To Install:
    1. Install the license plate lamp socket by turning it clockwise.
    2. Position the license plate lamp to the rear bumper fascia.
    3. Install the license plate lamp mounting screws.

    How to remove air pockets in the cooling system.

    When you have air in your cooling system, check for leaking gaskets. Most of the time the head gasket is leaking. and it is just a matter of time the whole gasket blows out. It will cost you because the engine needs revision, once the head gasket blows. Don't drive till a tech has checked your engine.

    My 2004 chevy impala dash lights wont come on

    It is possible that it could be the key switch. Some connections or wiring might be lose in that area. Other than that it could be the wiring for the dashboard that could be loose. Loose wiring or loose ground may also cause this making it look like as if the power supplied by the battery is not enough. I would also check the dimming switch. It may also be loose or is going bad.
