Okay... anonymous,
The
first... easiest & cheapest assumption is your
IGNITION KEY has become damaged and is
intermittently FAILING...
Simply having
another key to try should
tell if that is
TRUE/FALSE...
~~ (Caution)
After that the BEST THING TO DO is to make sure
all your battery connections are fresh & clean.
For most of the
sane world...
this is not a big deal... but AS for me...
I think
static SPARKs and losing battery... is
a HUGE problem ( you should always know all the
CONSEQUENCES OF REMOVING POWER in
ADVANCE of so doing ).
ELSE
You need to consider your
BATTERY (both sides).
((Body, frames & engine
ground distribution
ALSO)).
What I am about to propose can be seriously damaging
if done improperly... (extreme caution)
IF I am understanding
you correctly...
"all dash
lights radio 4WD selector
switch
leds are extinguished
"
The most likely source of your issues is your
PRIMARY (large cable)
POWER & GROUND...
This THEORY can be disproved
... when the
CONDITION is
FAILURE MODE...
Make sure the vehicle is fully secured & NOT in gear...
(as all your
SAFETY switches are being BY-PASSED)...
When the
CONDITION recurs...
Apply
BATTERY directly to the "
S" (
start)
terminal of your starter SOLENOID your starter
should engage (good enough).
That single test says your primary
battery & ground
systems are
OKAY... leaving you to consider the LOGIC
portion of your vehicles starting system & OBD systems.
