1998 Chevrolet C1500 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Can a 94 chevy cheyenne transmission interchange with a 97 chevy silverado tranmission
Will it physically fit? yes. Will it be a direct replacement any everything hook right up and plug right in? If we are talking about an automatic then no. 1994's wiring was completely different than the 1997. Can it be made to work? possible, but I believe it would be more trouble trying to make it work than if the correct transmission were located and installed. If it is a cost issue where he has a good trans out of a 1994 he might see if a salvage yard will do some partial trading for the correct trans.
Torque spec for shocks
top bolt if it's a stud and bushing type gets tightened until the threads run out - usually where the bushings squash pretty good. the nut on top will stop turning. Other fasteners tighten to about 50 lbs or so depending on the size of the bolt or nut. small bolts like 5/16, 3/8, 10mm shaft size get about 30 lbs. Torque is all about the size of the bolt ( the diameter) . Large fasteners like 1/2 in. and above get 50 to 80 lbs. . hope this was helpful
How to program ignition key
You need a battery charger on this to do it. Put the key in and turn it on. Leave it on for ten minutes, turn it off for thirty seconds. Do this three times, then try to start the vehicle. If the battery goes low(below 5 volts) or you hit the starter. You have to start over. This is a relearn.
1998 chev 1500 hard starting when cold but starts
The first thing i would tey is changeing the fuel filter. Chevy has a problem with the design from the fuel pump to the fuel inlet on the intake manifold. What they did it is back up the power supply to the fuel pump from the fuel relay and split the curicut and ran the back up through the oil pressure sending unit . So even if the relay went bad while driveing the fuel pump would still get power and the truck wouldn't die on the road its a saftey thing .But if the relay is bad then the engine needs to build up enough oil pressure to trip the oil sending unit to send power to the pump from cranking thus a long cranking time when cold . Change the fuel filter first it should be replaced every 4 to 5 years anyway . A nd if that dosn't fix it try the relay it should be behind a panal inside the glove box on your truck and if that dosn't work replace the oil pressure sending unit. One of these 3 things should work if the fuel pump is working correctly

you have a wiring issue there...check battery connections, connections at altenator, junction box and fuse pass through at the firewall. Make sure you follow your ground wires too should be one from the battery to block and frame to block
