How do i remove a starter from a 1991 chevy s10
I have a 93 s-10...think its the same...disconnect the neg terminal of the battery first...then crawl under the vehicle and look up near where the transmission and the engine connect together..on the passenger side should be the starter..there are two bolts holding the starter in...if you have enough room try to remove the positive battery cable first from the starter before trying to remove the mounting bolts..there should be a small wire that goes to the trigger lead on th solenoid...be sure to note where it goes..as this is the lead that hooks to the ignition switch to crank the starter
How to change the starter in 1991 s-10 pickup?
It will wiggle out for you
It has very limited space although they do come out
Take your time twisting it and moving it up and down to remove it
Take note what position it was upon removing to install the new one back in
91 s10 surges and wants to die when clutch is disengaged
Sounds to me to be more of an ignition coil problem. Remove a plug and replace the wire to the top of it. Rest the firing tip against your exhaust manifold and have someone else crank the motor. The spark should be blue or white. If it is orange or red you have a bad coil.
No HEAT!
The blower motor resistor is out and it is fairly inexpensive to get replaced around $25.00.

What would cause my 91 s10 to flood out?
It could be the throttle body itself that is worn out. There is something called the throttle positioning sensor that regulates how much gas is dumped into the motor for six cylinders to run on either at idle or going down the road. I had the same issue with my 90 blazer that died on me on the road and would not start because it was flooded.
