If steam is blowing out when the heat is on, the heater core is leaking into the car. If water drenches the floor after running a lot on a humid day, the condensate drain tube is plugged. Did you use a Delco rebuilt Alternator? The ones you get from so called discount auto parts stores are junk and they may be the cause of this problem, monitor the output of the system with a DVOM meter, does the voltage fluctuate? Have you check all the chassis grounds? They are the biggest source of this type of issue when the Alt. is ruled out.
