Is the clutch working? Will it roll freely when engaged? If so then it probably is just the linkage sync in the top of transmission. Or it is stuck in probably first or third? Not positive how that one is. But there is three movable linkages. 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and R. In order to shift a different one the one your on has to go back to neutral or the other one won't shift. The gearshift probably jumped over to one that won't move. And you have to take it off and set them back to neutral and put it back together.

Or It has broken gears, which would have to be real bad to keep it out of all gears.

I assume you have a 5.0 or 5.8 throttle body injected GM engine? It's as simple as removing all the torn screws on the top of the throttle body. I would suggest checking the alternator...could be DRAINING THE POWER THATS WHY NO CLICKING

You'll probably need to either replace the cluster with a used one, or send your cluster out to be fixed. Most dealers offer an exchange service for a fee. You get a rebuilt unit with the mileage set to your current number.

What is the fuel pressure at idle ?And do you know which cylinders are getting too much fuel ?

The handle is hooked up to two rods, one going to each side of the tailgate. If you remove the bezel around the handle, you should be able to reach them with a screw driver or some pliers.

Now clean MAF , install new TPS , Clean injectors .
