WHY IS MYBLOWER MOTOR FAN NOT WORKING 2005 GMC ENVOY
TOP OF LIST IS test fuSe, good looking ones test bad sometimes.
we use a voltmeter in the live circuit to test fuse.
what does Not working mean.
a: it wont blow air. but can hear it run. (sounds ok)!
b: it's silent, and sure is dead. can;t blow, dead.
which one? pretend im not there, and please say, all these details.
WHICH SYSTEM OPTIONS?" factory installed options,???????
which one, front or AUX? this car coame with front and rear systems.
2 blowers, as an option, we cant see it, so you must say so.
same with does it have the CLIMATE control options, ???
see?
Electrics 101.:
The blower in the dash needs 12vdc to spin.
its just an electric motor, a very simple device
it takes only that to make it work.
and fails only for 3 reasons.
1: blower is dead, hot wire it, dead now means its dead. if it runs hot wired its NOT bad.
2: bad wires to blower bad, or if it has resistor block that bad.
3: controller bad.
bad wires includes bad wire connectors. (same deal )
to find this cause, takes only a voltmeter.
found in all DMM meters ever sold, get one and check the voltage.
1: at motor.
2: leaving the controller.
just 2 or 3 checks with this meter and BEHOLD, the CAUSE.
since i dont know the answer to question a or b: above,
i can not work your problem.
if all this is complex. hell it is, look at the chapter in the FSM
it is complex. and with the AUX and the climate controls
big time complex. (fancy cars are like that , lots of complexity.)
we never work on complex system with out the FSM
or the alldata.com account.
why would we, no 2 cars are the same.
the Climate control system might cut the blower for many reasons.
if it in fact did.
buy the FSM read HVAC pages.
login to alldata.com read same.
now ask questions for tests stated in the books.
the books even show you where to put the meter leads.
photos !
and are 100% worth the price of admission. I promise.
