My 2008 chevy malibu wont drive forward it will only move in reverse. What is the problem?

Is it an automatic? If so its most likely to be an electronic shift solenoid. Unless your mechanically inclined do not attempt replacement. I cannot stress that enough. The valve body of a transmission is full of check and release balls as well as cylinders and actuators, not to mention incredibly soft and you cannot scratch it.

Changing Thermostat 2008 Chevrolet Malibu

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
NOTE: When adding coolant, it is important that you use GM Goodwrench DEX-COOL® (orange colored, silicate free) coolant meeting GM specifications. On these vehicles, if silicated coolant is added to the system, premature engine, heater core or radiator corrosion may result. In addition, the engine coolant will require change sooner; at 30,000 miles (48,000km) or 24 months.

CAUTION
Never open, service or drain the radiator or cooling system when hot; serious burns can occur from the steam and hot coolant. Also, when draining engine coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted to ethylene glycol antifreeze and could drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantities. Always drain coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or is several years old.

2.4L Engine
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Properly drain and recover the coolant to a level below the thermostat.
Unfasten the cover-to-outlet pipe bolt, which is accessible through the exhaust manifold runners.
Raise and safely support the vehicle.
Disconnect the radiator and heater hoses from the outlet pipe.
Unfasten the outlet pipe-to-oil pan bolt and the cover-to-outlet pipe bolts.
Remove the thermostat, then clean the old gasket material from the mating surfaces.

Windshield wipers don't move, but hear motor running

check the nuts on the wiper arms and make sure they are tight. If the nuts are tight then a linkage on the wiper transmission probably came loose or broke. You'll have to pull some cowling off to access it.

Radio will not work until I reset it by pulling the fuse.

I bet updating the vehicle computer will provide no benefit to a radio / stereo problem. If the stereo is a 2008 and there's never been any service on it, there may be an internal memory battery on the mainboard that has died. Higher function radios have memory back-ups that retain user settings & instruction sets. The fancier the features, the higher the likelihood. removing the fuse cuts ALL power to the stereo and forces a re boot to the processor that runs all of it's functions. leaving it fused but shut-off never turns it completely-off and allows the system to get goofed up - (without the back-up to retain things). Just to find out will require removing the stereo from the car. No dealership repairs stereos - search for DELCO car stereo repairs shops to get an estimate, giving your symptoms.

2008 chevrolet malibu door lock problem

My girlfriend has a 2008 Malibu. The door locks began to falter one by one until three of the locks had to be operated manually or by using a key. I checked the fuses, the BCM and the lubrication on the locks. The door lock actuators were the real problem. She was quoted about $1000 to fix the problem and replace all three of the bad actuator/ door lock assemblies through the dealer. I called and got a price of $125 for the front door and $105 for each of the back doors from the dealer. I was able to fix all three door locks in about three hours myself. It took a few star end bits, a 10 mm socket and a regular phillips screwdriver to get the job done. It has been two weeks now and she is ecstatic that the problem has been fixed and she saved about $750. This seems to be a common problem with this car, when ordering make sure you have the VIN number of the car you are working on to ensure you get the right part. Depending on the year of the vehicle there was a production date split for these parts.

Your best bet would be to have the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes ! May not be a sensor problem , could be a wiring issue . Most auto part stores will do this for free , and if it is a sensor they can show you where it lives an how to change it !

What happened to the radio when the battery in my 2008 chevy malibi was hooked up wrong?

If the fuse is still good, the radio is toast. Better than having the main computer fry, which can happen when the battery is reversed.
