We do not have this model in US, but I assume it is a new model 2016-17. You throttle (and the "rev" ) is controlled by the computer. The fact that your car is idles - should mean that your computer is fine! There are two types of idle control: 1st- when you have a bypass of the throttle, which lets the throttle flop stay close while idling and let's the air into the motor through a bypass and electronically controlled idle switch. Inspect your throttle - the electronic/metal unit located on the large pipe through which the air gets into the motor: if you have a "bypass" for the air then you need to inspect your throttle body as it could be your problem. 2. most likely you do not have a bypass and your idle is controlled by your throttle body, then it is sure working fine and your only issue is that your engine computer does not know that you press the accelerator. Your gas pedal has an electrical unit on it which connects to the engine computer- inspect the connector/wires if all looks fine most likely your accelerator sensor does not work- you need to change the gas pedal unit ( I think it called accelerator sensor). BBB Industries have diagrams under that model Tacoma 2.7 . Check the fuse for the coil circuit and it is possible the crank sensor or ECM/PCM has a bad connection or an internal fault . Does the tachometer register when trying to start the engine ?

Look in your owners manual under fuse panel and it will tell you the location of the fuse. Also you can get a test light and check each fuse one at a time to find out which fuse is burnt out. Attach the clip end to something metal and then on the end of each fuse you will see the post for the fuse touch both sides one at a time and the light will light. Do this until you find the fuse that doesn't light.

You can purchase a repair manual at your local part store that will go in to detail on how to repair and service your year of vehicle. Sorry not trying to sound mean just trying to help. Also check your owners manual for fluid capacity and type. There also will be a service manual in with this book. Good luck.

You need to be looking at what controls the engine. Throttle position sensor, air control sensor, etc. Get someone to plug in a diagnostic unit before you spend any more on guesswork parts.

Security issue. I don't know about yours, but this would be a start for you. Most security problems will let the engine start for 2 or 3 seconds, then kill the engine because the fuel is not running.

Scan the ABS system for fault codes. Find the fault and repair. There is no reset except to clear codes with a scan tool.

run the fault codes to check that all is ok then use the scanner to reset the light.
