2009 Grand Cherokee starts with FOB but shuts down after 3 seconds. Also, in winter blows cold air for 15 minutes before finally providing heat. MIL lite throughout. Two problems with one solution?

you failed to scan it. like 99% off all posts here do not do.... you can not fix cars, with no tools , no scan tools. The ASD has the 3 second rule and if 1 to 8 things fail in 3 seconds the ASD drops. both driving or cranking. FOB, (you mean remote start":?) yes/no. the car needs service, the operators guide told you that. and it does. "check engine light" get car serviced, as 99.9% do. if you have no tools why ask how to fix a complex system.? how cold is your winter, we cant guess that. -50F? if its warm out say 32F (that is warm) then my guess is your engine thermostat is bad, they can fail in 7 years of service. so says the maker of it and why. if in Alaska and -50F, this be a different and more complex answer. (park in a garage with engine block heater pulled in) The Scans will show what is wrong as will the keyon 3 times, key jive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=M6B5-ZDyXdg

How do i change ignition coil number 5 on a 2009 jeep grand cheerokee

Do you know which cylinder is # 5? You will probably have to remove engine cover to see anything. If coil on plug ignition, one coil for each spark plug. on the spark plug coil in question, remove electrical connector from coil, remove hold down bolt from coil, you may have to twist coil to get boot loose from spark plug. What is liter size of engine? This is for 4.7 L engine. It appears jeep rwd has odd and even banks like GM and Chrysler. 1357 for driver side bank. 2468 from front to back on passenger side bank.

WK won't crank at times.I have full power to all lights on dash . it wont crank.I replaced starter and battery . starts now, drive to store, come out same deal, 1hr later cranks.

Ignition module, crankshaft position sensor , PCM - engine computer etc... your best bet is to take it to a ASE certified repair shop or the dealer > You have no idea of the complexity involved in the computer systems on this vehicle ! unless you want to replace part after part an not fix it !

Coolant leaking out of reservoir and radiator. I have to fill tank once a week. The radiator seems to be full when checked cold.

replace the faulty reservoir or radiator what is happening is that the radiator cap is not raising the pressure in the cooling system because of a leak in the system the excess water from heating is being pushed out probably onto the ground through the leak when the cooling system cools down , water is being drawn back into the radiator probably find a crack in the radiator tank that opens under pressure but seal off as the pressure is lost

Turn signals not working

all else on car works perfectly (other shoe drops??????) waring 1: no scan tool, you will fail (99%) is battery fully charged to 12.6vdc rested or at 10v? all 4 corners dead? not working means dead?, flashes too fast/slow or dim? or they stick on? (5 modes to fail not counting L/R and haz) do the hazards work? (prime evidence and not stated) most cars before 2007 have fuse marked TURN. but not this car... its not at all like older cars.... did you scan it first after the fuse tests? any PCM scan tool.? 2009 WK jeep the FSM chapter 8L shows the huge list of errors the lamps can fail. DTC errors. in fact 8 blinker codes, ! DTC errors, there is no fuse, just for turns, (trailer lamps fuse 19) read this excerpt from the FSM book. The turn signal system operates on battery current received on a fused ignition switch output (run) circuit so that the turn signals will only operate with the ignition switch in the On position. The hazard warning system operates on non-switched battery current received on a fused B(+) circuit so that the hazard warning remains operational regardless of the ignition switch position. When the turn signal system is activated, the circuitry of the left multi-function switch and the FCM will cause the selected (right or left) turn signal indicator, front park/turn signal lamp, front side marker lamp and rear tail/stop/turn signal lamp to flash on and off. When the hazard warning system is activated, the circuitry of the hazard warning switch and the FCM will cause both the right side and the left side turn signal indicators, front park/turn signal lamps, front side marker lamps and rear tail/stop/turn signal lamps to flash on and off. The Front Control Module (FCM) can also activate the hazard warning system lamps. end quote) the module front control MFC, runs this and it uses fuse 18 , if 18 blows the module goes off line and vast things fail and huge numbers OF DTCs store. and fuse 27 MFC MFC needs these fuses good. keep in mind nobody has MFC internal schematics...so........ this module drives left and right side front and rear. electronic drivers, not fuses. the MFC is here. the fuses are 12,13,18, 20,27 that power MFC. 25812039-lb3yimx2pwhstnjl4tgwffiq-2-0.jpg ground this end.

Why wont it start

Your key fob is broken most likely and will need replaced at the dealer. The vehicle and new key will need to be there for programming. The security system is not reading the key.
