2005 jaguar x type touch screen blank. Codes 50 and 51
If the touch screen on your 2005 Jaguar X-Type is blank and you are receiving codes 50 and 51, it indicates that there is a communication error between the audio control module and the touch screen display.
Here are a few things you can check:
- Wiring and connections: Check the wiring and connections leading to the touch screen display and the audio control module to make sure they are in good condition and properly connected. A loose or damaged wire can prevent the display from working correctly.
- Audio control module: The audio control module is responsible for sending information to the touch screen display. If the module is malfunctioning or damaged, it can prevent the display from working properly. Check the module for any signs of damage or wear, and replace it if necessary.
- Touch screen display: If the display itself is malfunctioning, it may need to be replaced. Check the display for any signs of damage or wear, and replace it if necessary.
- Software update: There may be a software update available for the audio control module that can fix the communication issue. Check with a Jaguar dealership to see if there are any updates available for your vehicle.
I have a jaguar 2003 x type with 2 dash lights : (1) low brake fluid level but fluid level is to the top (2) emergency light BRAKE is on all the time.
I have worked on a 2003 x-type with the same problem. Unplug your fluid level float and e brake switch. Remove instrument cluster. On the right side connector,(White) cut the zip tie on the connector, slide the white clip off on the left side of the connector. It should slide out of the connector. You want to cut 2 black wires from pin 12 and 15. Pin 12 (Master cylinder float) will be the second from the right in the top row. Pin 15 (E brake switch) will be the one all the way on the left on the bottom row. Make sure you cut about 3 inches from the connector. Plug the instrument cluster back in and check if the light went out. If it goes out, you have a short in the harness. You will have to run a new wire to the float or e brake switch. If it stays on, strip all 4 wires and connect them all together and solder them. Check to see if the light went out. If it is out, you just saved yourself from replacing the instrument cluster. This happens when one of the outputs does not have the needed 10 volts comming out of it. By combining them it gives the 10 volts or more to the dead side of the input. If you still have a brake light after combining them, then get a fuse holder and a fuse tap and put a .5 amp fuse in it and combine it to the four that are combined. Make sure you fuse tap a fuse that goes on and off with the ignition switch. If this fails, then you have a bad instrument cluster. About $150 online.

My 2002 jaguar goes in
Sounds like a solenoid or a stuck servo in the transmission. Have it scanned and pressure tested to determine the cause.

Thank you so much for your follow up about the loose connection under the glove box..
I had exactly the same problem and the local ford dealer could not fix it. Was going to take it to the Jag dealer but did a search and your question and follow-up saved me a trip and $
Battery changed no code for
google radio code for the website.
there is a $20 bcharge which is far cheaper than a Jeep dealership charges you
I have a p1646 code
I would have the code checked again if it is still 1646 then you need to check the connector and wiring for this sensor.
Just to confirm that the sensor you changed is the rear (near the engine bay bulkhead) upstream (upper sensor of the two) , in most cases a grey connector.
I have a problem with
car shakes which is called shimmy shake,if brake pads been replaced wheels still shimmy, you have worn brake rotors with low and high spots, you could have bad wheel bearing, you have worn out tie rod ends and worn out ball joints, you could have tire out of balance, also you could need front end alignment.many things will cause wheels to do the shimmy shake.
