GMC Sierra - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

The problem may be the engine coolant sensor. If the sensor fails the engine will stop when normal operating temperature is reached . When engine is cold it will start.

They are located UNDER the Intake Manifold (Spider Assembly)...

First have the computer scanned for trouble codes and as for the gauges first check the fuses and relays then if they are good then you will have to replace the instrument cluster because they are well known for being faulty.

Have you replaced the actual switch panel mounted in the door? If everything else works directly with their own switches it could be the switches you use whilst driving.

What year motor Does it have a distributer or what

This is the only fuse that I can find that deals with the brake lights, but if that fuse had gone, you would have no throttle. My thought is a bad earth. More ideas here. There are some videos that may help, but the easiest thing is to get the vehicle to an auto electrician. His pro grade scan tool computer will show what the fault is.

sounds dumb but here in maryland people with older vehicles have problems passing emissions test. sometimes fresh oil change can help also possibly vehicle is in need of a tune up including plugs wire cap rotor pcv valve and fuel filter. one other thing could be the catalyst converter might not be cleaning to its full potential. hope this helps

Do you hear the fuel pump running on the prime cycle (when you turn on the key) (runs for 3 seconds) or when you have oil pressure?Have someone listen back by the tank for the wrrrrr.If you do have to change the fuel pump,make your life easy and just tilt up (lift) the pickup box from the drivers side to access the fuel pump.Takes 20 minutes to change it that way.

On the motor , right behind the alternator and the other one is rear of the gas tank

you have taken the calibration out of sink. you will now have to remove battery power again for about 5 minutes. after this time reconnect the battery. then turn key to on position for 3 minutes but do not touch the heater control or temperature controls. This should allow the heater and ac system to recalibrate. once the 3 minutes is up turn key off and then back on and start truck.. Try your controls again and see what happens. if no change then dealer will have to reprogram the heater control calibration for you.

The head light adjustment screws are at the back of the headlight under the hood.

Door switches or wiring.A scanner would help tracing the problem.
