Use amp meter and determine power draw against fuse size. Something is shorting - but if you can determine how much power is trying to go through you can devise a fix.

The anti-theft system on a

It's when the security light starts flashing that the infamous "chip" in the key becomes a nightmare to many. Gradually the car begins not cranking anymore or if it cranks it would start and die in a second. Randomly it will do this more and more often until it won't start anymore. VATS, PASSkey and Passlock immobilizer systems are killing cars all over North America, they have a short lifespan and are certainly more effective against owners than thieves. Here is how you save your car
1st trick, Try a spare key that is newer or used less. The pins wear down and so do the keys causing security fail. 2nd trick, (if not starting) turn the key forward 2 clicks till right before it would normally start, leave like that for 10 minutes. ( no less ) After 10 minutes, turn key back then forward and your car might start. I did this in my regal for more than a year. If its shutting down while running, im sorry i have no quick fix... If anything on this page helps you, please remember to comment or give me a thumbs up on the myfixya sight so i can have a better rating to help more people on this. Thanks

Cheap fix: Bypass the chip in your key. Temporary, but effective. Until the TDM (theft deterrent module) in the dash poops out, then you're kinda screwed. I was told that these types of key security systems have a 7-10 year life span. Sucks for us. This link explains the "Key Issue" pretty well.
----- http://vats.likeabigdog.com/

Never worry again fix: Bypass the whole VATS/Passlock/passkey I or passkey II system entirely. Literally take it out, and throw it away. I just did this in my Regal. Took about an hour. Took longer to find the thing than it did to fix the problem. They sell a unit for 200 bucks to totally bypass this system FOREVER. life time-money back and all that. Finally did this in my car. Well worth the 200 if you've looked into getting this replaced... Anywhere from 600-1000 bucks. If you do buy this, please purchase it thru this link. The cost is the same, but i get credit for the sale and im trying to earn my money back, as you will be able to do if you buy fron NewRockies and join the free affiliate program. Thanks
----- http://newrockies.ca?ap_id=judd0081 ----- With this fix, you can take that whole Vats, passlock, passkey system out of your car all together. Good info on both sites.

It works for:
Any GM or Isuzu Vehicle with VATS or PASSKey or PASSLock security systems.
If your car has the chip in the key or in the lock cylinder, then you can save it with this Full Bypass.

My Chevy Malibu Maxx is a 2004 and I think it might be a fuse because everything comes on in a car but it won't start what fuse do you think that is.and my mechanic was messing around with it and now my radio said it's locked what do you think that is

Is the vehicle security light lit ? It could be a fuse or the starter relay , or even the ignition switch , or even the PNP - park neutral position switch . This is a complex electronic starting system , computer controlled . The ignition switch is a low voltage input to the the BCM - body control module . When the BCM receives this input to crank the engine a lot of complex commands are sent over the serial data network to the PCM to enegrize the starter relay , there by sending battery voltage to the S terminal on the starter solenoid . If your mechanic disconnected the battery it could have caused the radio to say locked , you need a code to enter into the radio to unlock it , may need to have the dealer hook up their factory scan tool to do that . Your best bet , find a better automotive technician , not a mechanic. Circuit Description (Key Start) For ignition switch power modes refer to Body Control System Description and Operation in Computer/Integrating Systems. Once the ignition is placed in the Run/Crank position, the control circuit of the Run/Crank relay is grounded by the body control module (BCM). With the Run/Crank relay switch closed, battery positive voltage flows through it and on to the park/neutral position (PNP) switch. With the PNP switch in either the Park or Neutral position, battery positive voltage will flow to the starter relay coil supply voltage input terminal of the powertrain control module and the coil side of the starter relay. Placing the ignition in the START position sends a message to the powertrain control module (PCM) requesting engine start. If the PCM has determined that the transmission is in Park or Neutral and theft is not active, it will ground the control circuit of the starter relay. Battery positive voltage will then flow through the switch side of the starter relay to the S terminal of the starter solenoid, cranking the engine.

Where is the drl module located on a 2003 chevy

The resistor is located on the left front bumper support. To access the resistor on Chevrolet and Pontiac models, loosen the left front corner of the plastic wheel well liner where it attaches to the front fascia. Saturn vehicles do not require you to remove the front wheel or wheel well liner.

should be located in your fuse box in most cars not all cars the box will be located on the sides of the dash panel open the car door you should see a compartment there or under the dash driver side. and it does not reference it there your last resort is under the hood in the main engine fuse box how that helps

How do i remove passenger side front seat on a chevy malibu

I don't have one in front of you, so this is a generic answer. Important: unhook wiring connector or connectors under the seat! If you don't, you will rip it out when you remove the seat and it will be a huge expense to repair/replace it. You should see 4 bolts that attached to each seat legs, unbolt these. If there is nothng else attached to it, you simply remove the seat.

Can't open 2004 malibu trunk, the release button just click. the key want open it. can't pull backseat down to get to trunk. how do I replace the release switch

Can you remove the hold down bolts or nuts that hold the seat to the floor, then move the whole seat to get a look behind the seat? I'd have to look to see if there is access to the trunk, behind the seat. Just a thought. In the past I have had locks, where I broke the key off in the lock, not automotive. I drilled out the key cylinder to get it open. I don't want to cause more problems than you already have? If you drill out the key cylinder, I don't know if the trunk will open? If so, then maybe you could replace key cylinder after you fix everything. You could call locksmith, see if they can get it open? Don't try anything if your not comfortable with the procedure. good luck.
