Scantool codes number one. If no codes it is usually fuel, check delivery pressure. Check spark> if no spark and no codes will be immobiliser memory loss in most cases.

I would suspect corrosion of the transmission internals. Start by removing the oil fill plug and spraying around the inside of the transmission with a light penetrating type oil

1. Kano Kroil Penetrating Oil
2. Blaster Penetrating Catalyst
3. wd 40 penetrating oil

. Use the small straw that comes with the penetrating oil and spray so that you get the upper components which will not have been covered with transmission oil. Let the penetrating oil do its work for 24 hours, and then try the transmission. You will have to gently work the shifter back and forth. If the trick works, drain the old oil and refill with a correct type oil. If the trick doesn't work, repeat process. If it still doesn't work, than transmission removal will be necessary. Good luck.
