Try spraying a little starter fluid into the air intake. If it tries to start, the carburetor needs adjustment or cleaning and rebuilding or replacing. DO NOT USE A LOT OF STARTER FLUID!

Hey Dave, Have you replaced the air filter? Try running it without the filter to see of that makes a difference.. bad gas will not cause this.. Sometimes its cheaper to take it to a professional..

There should be a dip stick on the chain case remove it and add oil there. until it is full on the shight glass. Hope this helps.

Check your fuses. use a ohm meter. use a test light to see if you have power to your ignition switch. if not check your relays. if you have power to your switch turn it to the on position, see if you have power there. If you have power there, then turn it to the start position,see if there is power there. if not replace switch. Hope this helps. .

Follow your plug wires back to the coil and then change it.

I have the book but I cant find the codes. So find out if your rad fan is coming on. If it does then pull out your thermostat and place it in a pot of water and see at what temp it opens at. The open temp should be stamped on the thermostat. If it is stuck closed or opening to slow, replace stat. Good luck!

Locate chain tension bolt. Loosen locknut. With 2 fingers tighten the lock bolt until it is tight.(not crazy tight) Then back off the lock bolt 1/4 of a turn. Hold bolt and tighten lock nut. You are done now. Good luck!

What info would you like on the chain case?

I need a bit more info. What is the strength of your coolant? Does your rad fan come on? When, and what type of conditions does this happen?

The Starter is located forward of the Engine, Left side. Make sure you disconnect the Battery BEFORE you start working on the starter.

Rebuild or replace primary clutch and belt. Clutches do not last forever. Also check secondary shiver.

Sounds like fuel pump may be leaking into crankcase over fueling engine.

You have to remove the 2 bolts holding the seat down under the tunnel first. Then slide the seat to the rear to remove it. Then you can remove the springs holding the hold-down plate on the rear of the tank. Just slide the tank back then.

common problems that can cause this is to much oil. engine veins blocked or the rings on the piston are gone and the back pressure from ignition creates an overflow of air into the system.

Maybe its trying to tell you something. Low oil or no oil flow, try replacing level sensor.
