Freezers have a sensor that is referred to as a "Fan Delay/Defrost Terminator". It senses the temp during the defrost cycle. Usually, when the evap temp reaches about 50 degrees, there should not be any frost or ice on it. This device terminates the defrost cycle. It also keeps the fans off so warm air is not circulated. When the evap gets to about 20 degress or so, the sensor switches on the evap fans. If the fans are not coming on, either the sensor is bad or the evap is not reaching the proper temp to cause the sensor to turn on the fans.

The thing I learned that the only thing a normal person / manager / owner could do is clean the condenser fins. anything else is the domain of the refrigeration engineer. It could be stuck in defrost mode if the defrost cycle is like a heat pump and reverses the cycle to heat the evaporator and cool the condenser. The other possibility is a faulty control board. The only way to fix is to call for service. Tell the engineer everything that happened, as it will speed his diagnosis. True are a great brand. Question edited for a lot more clarity. Question moved to True Freezer category. You need a refrigeration engineer. It sounds like is has a leak and needs topping up with refrigerant gas. Things that also need checking, circulation fan working and that the defrost timer and defrost heater, and electronic thermostat are working correctly. Refrigeration is not a handyman job. ..

Clixon is an overload device designed to shut off current when too much juice is flowing within circuit. When it cools it resets itself but if condition is still present it will go out again.

Your fan it's either defective, Or your unit is frozen up and the fan is stuck in ice. Unplug it defrost it take off the panels and see if the motor's any good .

The Mulluen heaters will be Built into the frame not in the door.

P1 is almost always a fault on the sensing (control) probe. Check it's end is not wet or covered in thick ice, and check the connections at the controller. If you can, change the probe connections on the controller temporarily. If P2 then shows it proves the probe is faulty. If P1 still shows, it proves the controller is at fault.

depends if it is only a two wire hard start.. then wire it parelel with the run capacitor . place line to line and load to load . load goes to compressor and line to power which is usualy realy the neutral for a 120v compressor since the hot runs to a overload and straight to the compressor

Is it the defrost heater element? There are several possibilities. Check defrost timer operation and output, check overheat limit klixon (attached to evaporator), check heater continuity.

Hi, sounds like your defrost clock is stuck in the defrost mode. On most true boxes they have a paragon defrost clock with adjustable pins you can set the amount of cycles and duration of the defrost cycle. Find the clock and give it a turn in the direction of the arrow or cw. It will come out of defrost and start to freeze again. If it continues, you may need a new clock. Let me know what you find. It's extremely rare that the compressor will be any good. Usually replacing the start relay does nothing on these small units. If you know how to use a multi-meter and are any good at wiring the cheapest way to go is to get what is called a 3-in-1 start kit at a HVAC wholesaler. You need to know the model of the compressor and/or the horsepower to get the right one. I would recommend getting a service tech to look it over though. Most likely the compressor is locked up.
