I have a TI-5045 II Calculator that wont print

I have the exact same problem (just happended recently) with my TI-5045 II after 25 years of good service. My solution? I just bought another model: Sharp EL-1801V at Stapels for about $31.00. To get the old one fixed will probably cost me $25.00-30.00 just to diagnose, plus shipping and parts and labor. And that assumes I can find a shop to do it, or that TI still stocks the part(s) gone bad. Same old problem with all technology.

I am a teacher. I have about 10 calculators that

Hi,
It has two batteries CR2032. They should not be removed at the same time. There must always be one battery in the calculator. The calculator should be turned OFF when changing batteries.

Often after you change batteries the screen contrast may be too light and you cannot see anything. The contrast can be adjusted (lightened or darkened). As you adjust the contrast setting,a highlighted number in the upper right corner changes to indicate the current contrast setting; 0 is the lightest, and 9 is the darkest.
To adjust the display contrast:
1. Press and release the [2nd] key.
2. Use one of two keys: (UpArrow or DownArrow)
--- To increase the contrast (darken), press and hold [UpArrow]
---To decrease the contrast (lighten), press and hold DownArrow

Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.

Screen Gibberish

Wow, I'm in the exact same situation. I've had my trusty TI for 6 years and now all of a sudden this gibberish is on the screen. You're right, there is absolutely nothing you can do to fix it. Guess we'll have to bite the bullet and buy a new one.

How many ml is 5 mg?

Milliliter is a unit of volume, milligram is a unit of mass (or weight). There is no direct conversion between them. 5 mg of water occupies 5 ml. 5 mg of gold occupies about about a quarter of a ml.

Why is my ti84 giving me wrong answers when I use trig functions?

Your right you should be in degree mode. However, my guess is you are somehow entering in cot wrong in your calc. Recall cot = 1/tan! In your graphing calculator enter: 35(1/tan(61) = 19.4. Hope this helped!
