Sony KDL-40V5100 Switches off by itself

Bravia KDL40W2000 Remote and manual controls no longer work
check to be sure your remote is sending IR signal, with
a smart phone camera hold remote IR eye in front of camera and click any buttons on remote, you should see
a light coming from IR eye. If no light emitting, remote needs to be replaced.
Sony bravia tv constantly changing channels
Is the tv new or has it started to do this recently ?
Try to eliminate the obvious.
Does the remote continue to flash when you release all of the buttons? Is it a stuck button ?
If you cant' see the remote output, try using your smartphone camera. Most phone cameras will capture infrared light ( invisible to the eye). Next turn all of the lights off in the room with the tv. Also turn off any lights that may shine in from other rooms. Try using the remote
If your tv functions normally, you may be getting interference from your lighting. Some LED and CFC fluorescent lights flicker at a rate which may be close to the remote IR output frequency.
If turning off the lights fixes the issue, turn on each light to isolate the issue. Replace the bulbs with ones from different manufacturers.
