How do I insert cable into my Shimano XT SL-M740 3 Speed Rapid Fire Shifter

I finished changing the cable of Shimano Deore XT SL-M740. Unfortunately it did not have the plastic screw hiding the chunk of lead at the end of the cable. I mean that there is no hole from which the cable can be pulled out. Therefore, I removed the front panel where you see "Simano Deore", but this panel only removed the shift position indicator and the internal mechanism was covered by another metal sheet. To change the cable I had to remove the small cover between the barrel adjuster and the lever. The cover is fastened by two very small screws. An encouraging sign was that one of these screws was missing. That indicated that a previous owner had removed the cover once. The cable end was attached to a component exactly like a brake cable is attached to a brake lever. This component pulls the cable around the shifter. The sift cable is not attached to the shift lever. The sift lever rotates the said component. The barrel adjuster had a slot to put the cable inside. Therefore, attaching the cable to the above component was easy. When the cover was installed, I attached the small screw to the end of a driver with silicon paste. Someone suggested to use grease, but grease is messy.

Best shimano rear drailuer for a shimano 11-46t cassette?

There is no "best" derailleur for any particular situation. Get one rated to handle the range, at a price you can afford, and that has good reviews. Performance is more affected by how well you set up derailleur and cables, as well as chain and condition of cassette, than by individual model differences.

I have Shimano 105 flight

Could actually be both. Squirt a small amount of lubricant between the two paddles and shift one or the other multiple times to see if they free up. If not you made to take it to your local shop where the can disassemble the shifter to see if debris has lodged itself inside.

I have a 18 speed malvern star bike with shimano gearing and i need to know how to the path for the chain

The only reason I can think of for needing that info is a broken or replacement chain. In either case one needs the proper tool and connecting link to size and install the chain. Do not do so without knowing the proper procedure. Find a bike co-op or bike shop locally to help, or a knowledgeable friend, or Google "install bike chain".

When readjusting the cable tension the screw that holds the cable tight on the back derailer got dislodged and fell out of the housing. Some how the derailer body moved and the screw cant go back in.

Derailleur position should have nothing to do with being able to reinsert the cable binding bolt, and unless the cable is very loose the tension is adjusted with the barrel adjuster at the end of the cable housing. How do I switch gears have a nishiki manitoba 500 series has two shiffters on each side?

the shifter pod on the right is for the rear derailleur and the shifter pod on the left is for the front derailleur. There are usually two shift levers on each pod. Some you actuate with just your thumb, others you use your thumb and forefinger. Generally the larger of the two levers is to move the chain onto a larger size gear cog, one click of the lever equals one gear. Use the smaller of the two levers to return the derailleur, one click equals one gear. This is assuming the cables are adjusted properly, if the cables are not adjusted properly then you won't get a nice "one click = one gear" shift response and you should take your bike to your LBS (local bike shop) for a tune up, or watch some YouTube videos on how to do it and practice.

Ho remove freehub on shimano fh-rm30

The free hub body can be removed from the hub after the axle and bearings are removed. Typically you use a #8 Allen wrench. It will be tight and will take some effort, righty tighty-lefty loosy.

How to replace cable in vintage shimano XT Deore SL M740 rear shifter...there is no feed hole as with most other shifters

on some of the old stuff there was a small plastic plug screw, Phillips head, near where the shift levers enter the pod. Once that is removed and the shifter is in smallest cog position you will be able to sight through that access hole and see daylight and can fish the cable through it. Hope that helps.

just about anything will work on a six speed, just have to make sure that the difference in teeth count from the small cog versus the large cog will be covered by the derailleurs capacity. It might say something like 32 teeth, that means it can cover a tooth differential between the small and large cogs of 32 teeth as an example.
