Green light on new Ryobi charger flashing when trying to charge battery it that normal

Yes, the green light flashes until the battery is fully charged on Ryobi chargers. This will change to a solid green light when the battery is fully charged until the charger goes to a power-saving mode. Not all of the Ryobi chargers have a power-saving mode. However, for those that do, the green led will dim over time and then brighten and dim slowly again in this mode. My Ryobi charger, model P113, actually has a key for the LEDs on the unit on the left of the battery port. The manual for this charger is here: https://manuals.ttigroupna.com/system/files/5495/original/P113_192_trilingual.pdf?2011 . Ryobi has many of their manuals on their site. Look up your charger/tool here: https://www.ryobitools.com/power-tools/support/manuals , Home Depot's web site also has many of these manuals on the product site for the tools that they sell. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

Ryobi 18V Battery green lights stay on, fully charged, won't power drill

Seems batteries have completed their normal life and require replacement. Keep in mind that when batteries are exhausted, their voltage remain normal but loose current. It seems that batteries do not sustain current i.e. have become un usable.

Does my battery not work on my Ryobi chainsaw because it is too cold outside? Put it on charger and turns yellow, It's only 6 months old.

Yes it is too cold for the battery outside. Indoors and on charge it should go yellow to green. If the not return the battery under warranty.

Ryobi 18V lithium battery won't charge

Hi, Thanks for getting back to me. The yellow and blinking red indicate a defective cell. Since it has lithium cells and is that new any repair to it would be a waste of your time. Ryobi tools purchased in 2008 have a 2 year warranty. I am guessing you probably got it at a home depot and you should return it under the warranty. All new Ryobi tools have a three year warranty. Good Luck! and Thanks for using fixya!

How to fix lithium battery got wet

The battery cells inside lithium ion batteries (and other types of batteries) tend to corrode if they become wet for a given period of time. They need to be dried out immediately to avoid corrosion. Unfortunately, it seems like it is too late to dry out yours. Your battery will need to be carefully disassembled using procedures on fixya and the corroded cells replaced with similar quality cells. The cells in Ryobi batteries are spotted welded in place and these welds need to be broken carefully using a Stanley knife. Replace the cell(s) with new ones or from other disassembled batteries and solder them in place. Check for cell voltage imbalance (see other solutions on fixya) and reassemble. Good quality Panasonic Li Ion cells can be purchased for about $4 each on ebay. If you go this route, I would recommend replacing all cells, not just the corroded ones.

I have a Ryobi 18v cordless drill model CBD-180VR. The power cable to the charging stand is missing and i am not able to charge the drill. I have not been able to find a replacement cable.

might be able to just get a short extension cord and solder it in after opening up the charger.
