2008 Pontiac G6. I can't get it to rev over 4000 rpm after changing the crankshaft sensor. To reset the crankshaft sensor you have to rev the rpm past 5000.

Question edited for a lot more clarity. That is the worst written English and spelling I have seen for months! :>D Question moved to model category. It sounds like you are in Limp Mode. Was the crankshaft sensor, a proper OEM replacement of a cheap one from Mexico or China? They come faulty as new! Don't go cheap on sensors. https://www.google.com/search?q=2008+pontiac+g6+limp+mode Or it has a rev limiter depending on what you are doing. https://www.google.com/search?q=2008+Pontiac+G6.+I+can%27t+get+it+to+rev+over+4000+rpm ..

I got a 09 pontiac g6 wont start.there is no crank no clicks when i turn the ignition on but the engine light is on

You have know idea how the starting system works , an with the engine light on your best bet would be to have it towed to a qualified repair shop . When the ignition switch is turned to the Start position, the body control module (BCM) receives battery voltage on the ignition 1 voltage circuit, and less than 5 volts on the off/run/crank voltage circuit. The BCM supplies voltage to energize the RUN/CRANK Relay 32. The BCM sends a high speed GMLAN serial data message to the engine control module (ECM) that the key is in the start position. The ECM receives the message from the BCM, and also receives a serial data message from the transmission control module (TCM) containing the shift lever position. If the shift lever is in Park or Neutral when ignition switch is turned to Start, the ECM supplies voltage to the START Relay 31. The START relay supplies voltage to the S terminal of the starter solenoid, through the 30 A STRTR Fuse 26, in order to crank the engine.

2007 Pontiac G6 GT. The passing gear is not working?

Question edited for clarity, correct order, 'year make model'. Not sure what you mean by 'passing gear', because there isn't one! Do you mean 'kick down', which you shouldn't be using to pass, because it means that you are leaving passing too late. https://www.google.com/search?q=2007+Pontiac+G6+GT.+The+passing+gear+is+not+working Automatic gear changing is dictated by the PCM. The only way to diagnose is to get an auto electrician. A Professional Grade scan tool computer can diagnose shift solenoids by instructing them to operate and verify that they did. https://www.google.com/search?q=auto+electrician+near+me ..

Do 2008 Pontiac torrent GXP have power steering pump

It could or could have electric power sterring , look up under the dash below the steering wheel an see if it has a electric motor on the steering column . Power Steering System Description and Operation (with EPS) The Electric Power Steering (EPS) system reduces the amount of effort needed to steer the vehicle. The system uses the power steering control module (PSCM), torque sensor, power steering motor rotational sensor, power steering motor, discrete battery voltage supply circuit, and the GMLAN serial data circuit to perform the system functions. The PSCM and power steering motor are each serviced separately from the steering column assembly. However, the motor rotational sensor is serviced as part of the power steering motor, and the torque sensor is serviced as part of the steering column assembly. The PSCM also monitors vehicle speed from the engine control module (ECM) via the GMLAN serial data circuit. At low speeds more assist is provided for easy turning during parking maneuvers. At higher speeds less assist is provided for improved road feel and directional stability.

Want to know about this code reader

I'm not sure if an obd2 will work on your year...I own a 93 formula and have a obd1 reader. It is for 92 or 93 GM to 98 GM vehicles. It works extremely well for what you would be using it for. It won't tell you exactly what is wrong, but will definately point you in the right direction.

Does it seem to only work at a certain speed? If you only have med-high it might be the resistor. If it is intermittent on all speeds it might be a bad connection

2006 Pontiac G6. Anyone know the fuel composition sensor location?

The fuel composition sensor goes by several other names: flex fuel sensor, fuel compensation sensor, and variable fuel sensor. Its exact location varies according to the vehicle's make and model, but you can usually find it in the fuel line that connects the fuel tank and the injectors This for flex fuel models not sure Pontiac had it.

Instrument gauges work on a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am 3.8 Liter when fuse for IPC/BFC ACC is taken out after the car is started. When the IPC/BFC ACC fuse is put back in the instrument gauges don't work.

Seems that the IPC/BFC ACC fuse is responsible for the instrument gauges not working on your 2004 Pontiac Grand Am 3.8 Liter1. It is possible that the fuse is faulty and needs to be replaced. However, if the fuse is in good condition, there might be an issue with the wiring or the instrument cluster itself. Check the inputs (powers and grounds) going into the cluster with the key on using a voltmeter. Fix/repair wiring as needed or replace the instrument cluster as needed. A qualified mechanic might diagnose this --and a scan tool.
