Hi, My Nespresso handle is stuck in the open / up position and there is no capsule or tray inserted, open & empty. Advice please
Which model of machine is it? How old is it? Is it plugged into the wall socket and turned on? Some newer Nespresso machines need a power supply to turn on and to work.
Next check the drop bin the used pods drop into. Sometimes when it is full a pod won't drop properly and can jam the mechanism.
Try this. When the machine is Cold and unplugged from the wall. Remove the drop bin. Swing the handle to the fully open position and carefully feel Up from inside the hole the drop bin sits in. Your checking to see if there's a pod jammed in there.
If it still won't close it could be a broken part from inside the machine jamming the sliding rails. The finger test above might knock the broken piece loose.
Only steam is coming out of the frother, not the
I just rectified this problem with my Nespresso Latissima Pro machine. This model has a milk frothing unit that is removable to place in the fridge for later use. We are on our second frothing unit over 6 yrs and clean the milk frother religiously. Here's the key...there are 5 pieces to the frothing head: head unit, foam selection dial, spout elbow, silicone draw tube and frother to machine joint piece. Our problem was found with the frother to machine joint piece, the piece that gets pushed into the machine to seat the frother. This piece has a larger hole on one end and a very small hole on the other, there are two rubber 'o' rings on the body and a horizontal slit in one side. This piece becomes completely clogged with hard water deposit that is not cleaned out with the descaling solution sold by Nespresso. I have soaked this piece (along with all head components) in CLR and used a syringe to flush CLR through all the little pieces. I let them sit for 15 mins, then soak in hot water for 5 mins and flush thoroughly with hot running water. Seems to have fixed not just my frother I am currently using but my old one also.

Nespresso D150 coffee makes leaking water tank
If your Nespresso D150 coffee maker is leaking water from the bottom as soon as you attach the water tank, there might be a few possible causes for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and address the problem:
1. **Check O-Ring Seal:** Even if the O-ring inside the water tank appears fine, it's worth inspecting it closely for any signs of wear, damage, or misalignment. If the O-ring is not creating a proper seal, it can lead to leaks.
2. **Clean and Lubricate O-Ring:** Sometimes, debris or residue can accumulate on the O-ring, preventing it from forming a tight seal. Clean the O-ring and the area where it sits in the water tank thoroughly. Applying a small amount of food-grade lubricant can help ensure a proper seal.
3. **Check for Cracks:** Examine the water tank for any cracks or damage that could be causing water to leak out. Even a small crack can lead to significant leakage.
4. **Check Water Tank Connections:** Ensure that the water tank is properly aligned and securely attached to the machine. If it's not properly seated, it can cause leaks.
5. **Inspect Machine Gaskets:** There might be gaskets or seals on the machine itself that interact with the water tank. Inspect these gaskets for wear, damage, or misalignment.
6. **Water Level Sensor:** Some coffee makers have a water level sensor that detects the water level in the tank. If the sensor is damaged or not functioning correctly, it might cause leakage. Contact Nespresso or a professional technician for assistance with sensor-related issues.
7. **Pressure Relief Valve:** Coffee makers often have pressure relief valves to regulate pressure within the system. If this valve is not functioning properly, it can cause leaks. This might require professional assessment and repair.
8. **Contact Customer Support:** If the issue persists despite troubleshooting, consider reaching out to Nespresso's customer support or a professional technician who specializes in coffee maker repairs. They can provide more specific guidance based on your machine's model and issue.
Remember that working with electrical appliances and water can be potentially hazardous. If you're unsure about any aspect of troubleshooting or repair, it's best to seek professional assistance to avoid causing further damage or compromising safety.
My Nespresso machine leaks water and hisses like a kettle after pouring the coffee.
It is possible that your Nespresso machine is experiencing a malfunction and may need to be serviced. The leak and hissing sound could be signs of a clogged brewing head, a damaged water tank or pump, or a malfunctioning valve. To prevent further damage, it is best to stop using the machine and contact Nespresso customer service for assistance. They can guide you through the troubleshooting process and provide you with options for repair or replacement if necessary.
Burnt Milk at Bottom of Aeroccino
Try this - make a paste from bicarbonate of soda and water and let it
sit in the bottom of the frother for ten minutes or so. Then use a sponge
to clean off the milk stain and rinse and dry thoroughly. To prevent it from
recurring, rinse and dry the inside after each use and don't get the base
of the frother wet.

The milk frother has stopped
The solution to rotation issues with the frother have been soved finally by myself after reading all the suggestion. The fix is simple... Your attachments have been magnitised and need to be demagnetized. It works a beauty. Run a magnet around the metal rings. Hint. Never leave them on the the frother when not being used.

My nespresso stops half way though making a cup of coffee and have to press the button again repeatly to start it again
Has anyone operated your machine that was unfamiliar with the correct method. It sound as though the quantity has been reset. Try holding both buttons down while turning the machine on - hold till buttons stop flashing. This will reset to factory settings. Then, you can programme each button by holding it down whilst extracting, then releasing when the correct amount is extracted. It will remember this until you return the machine to its factory settings as above.
Hope this helps!

My machine leaks water into the capsul box and
-the short term solution-1. take your affected capsule. set it on its un-punctured/un-perforated bottom (the thin foil surface) on a flat surface. the three puncture holes should be facing upward on the top of the capsule. by the way, if you shake the capsule you should hear the grounds sound dry as if the capsule was new.2. find a thin small rubber band. size-wise, ideally, the rubber band will fit loosely around your thumb; with a very small gap between the rubber and your thumb.3. put the rubber band around the collar of the capsule. the band should be put over the top of the capsule and pushed down until it stops flush against the flange (rim). if the band is correctly placed, the band will be just 1mm flat inside the rolled bare aluminum edge (rim).4. insert the capsule in your citiz machine as usual. optional: you can orient one of the puncture holes at 12 o'clock position (top dead center) during the insertion process. this time, it will work. you will find the capsule will eject cleanly with the rubber band intact.5. save the rubber band.-which machines does this apply to?-this is a common problem with nespresso machines introduced after 2010, specifically the citiz. i have not seen this problem on the pixie, yet. i would expect this issue on the lattissima plus.i am assuming that the machine is otherwise functioning properly: meaning that the machine does not have an issue with the water pump, excessive scaling deposits restricting water flow, or some other major mechanical part. -why is this happening?-look at the capsule, the post-2010 machines bite new slightly rectangular indentations on the capsule around the top edge of the wall. this is new. nepresso changed the insertion mechanism in response to competitors bringing non-nespresso branded capsules to market: Douwe Egberts/Sara Lee "L'or expressO", Caffe Vergnana "ESPRESSO", etc.this new insertion mechanism was supposed to thwart knockoff capsules, instead it is unintentionally thwarting your "real" nespresso capsule. the injector needles are not piercing correctly all the way. the injectors poorly lodge: deep enough to make puncture holes but not deep enough to allow water to flow freely into the espresso grounds compartment.two things can happen: 1. the pressure release valve, inside the brewing chamber which prevents an explosion occurring if the coffee exhaust path becomes blocked, is activated and hot water overflows into your used capsule basket. 2. the hot water flows outside and around the capsule and into your cup as clear hot water.-what do i do long term?-contact nepresso. get your machine repaired or replaced. this is a factory manufacturing defect that has nothing to do with you, wear, use, or hard water. refuse to pay the $125 repair fee. demand that they fix the machine free of charge. they will send you a loaner in a plastic shipping crate to use while your is being fixed. you should not have to suffer without espresso or waste legitimately purchased capsules just because nespresso is in a legal fight capsule copycats. this is not your fault.
