The Left Pedal is striped

If all of the threads are stripped out of the crank arm, then what is known as a "helicoil" is the only thing you can do to fix it, aside from getting a new crank. Putting in a helicoil takes someone who knows how to do it, BTW. Take it to a bike shop where you can get help with it.

Need pulleys for my TD

There are no pulleys on the front derailleur. Only the Rear derailleur has pulleys.

The Front derailleur consists of two plates that work the front gears (chainrings)

The Rear derailleur consists of a long arm with 2 pulleys to wrap the chain while shifting the rear gears (cassette).

Pulleys range from $10- a pair to $75-. Your local bike shop should have a suitable replacement set of pulleys, depending on the model of your derailleur it is sometimes less expensive to just replace the whole unit.

CAN I USE A 11-34

11-34 referres to the cassette (rear gears) and it is perfectly suited to this gear range. 11T is the smallest and 34T is the largest it will handle.

The crankset referres to the front gears and I have not found a crankset that will not work with this derailleur

How do you put back together??

well this is a hard deal to explain but ill try. so your set-up i assume consists of 1 bolt with square center shaft it goes in the center with the 2 larger flat plates in the center with the other 2 smaller flat plates on the outside and the you add the washers if any were provided and then your bolts snug with fingers first put seat post back on bike do a dry adjust the snug bolt completely with a wrench these initially even to a skilled hand can be a bugger to get all together at first due to lack of room and overly large amount of parts but you will get it hope this helps good luck and if its another setup consisting of a different group of hardware not explained here get back at me with a comment here ill fix you up:)

My MTB handles seem to be to loose , when I let go

This sounds like te neck of the bike has come loose, tighten the bolt that's right above the frame and underneath the handle bars, there will also be a little washer-type thing that's directly under the bolt and you must tighten that in order to shield the bearing from moisture. hope this helps, Daniel

Replace bicycle chain

A BMX bike should have a master link. Look for one link that looks different from the rest. It should slide off the pins, which will allow the pins to be removed from the other side. Another style of master link requires both pins to be pushed towards each other to unclip the two pins on both sides of the chain simultaneously.

When you get a new chain, you will either have to ask the shop to shorten it to the correct length for you (keep the one you took off for reference) or buy a chain tool to remove the extra links.

Is this derailleur 3 speed?

No, it is a front derailleur, and must be able to accomodate 3 front chainrings. Where did you get the derailleur, from what bike? They are not universal fit. A lot depends on your shifter to work and the size of your frame.

I bought a mountain bike with Shimano Altus gears

There are a couple of possible problems. You can try backing off the cable tension a little bit at the shifter and running back and forth through the gears adjusting as you go till it hits 2nd coming down. You can also try backing off the High limit screw on the derailleur. This will allow the shift to start a little farther from the bike hopefully hit 2nd. Hope this helps.

The derailer front and rear move only two cogs

Take your bike to a Trek Dealer, you can cause more damage if it is loose or too tight. You have a good bike, don't skimp and have someone "fix" it that really does not know what they are doing. I've seen many that the owner's buddy "fixed" and it always means more work and more expensive because we have to undo the damage first

I don't know what it's called, but after 21 years

You might look at the shifters very closely and try to determine the make of the brake lever, then the model.

has what you may need for $50 for the entire brake lever pair.

My Shimano Alvio 3-speed front shifter has

rough guess, from past life of bmx.
there should be a cable that runs down to the mechanism, the cable is secured by a small nut, loosen the nut and pull the cable a little more out of the nut with pliers. tighten the nut, and try the linkage.
the shift cable stretches over time and your actually gonna make a small adjustment to compensate for the stretch. by just pulling the cable thru the locking nut to make it shorter.

I have a huffy 26

hi, if you follow the cable to the derailleur at the back and look where the cable goes into that part you should see that its held on with a bolt, now just before this bolt their should be an adjuster that you can turn to tighten the cable a little bit, you know where the black outer cable goes into the derailleur at the back their should be a little screw in adjuster you can screw this out and this will tighten the cable.

how ever if you dont have this then change the gear so its on the lowest gear (the smallest cog at the back wheel) then if you undo the bolt on the back derailleur that is holding the cable if you undo it slightly you should then be able to push the derailleur up slightly and pull some of the cable through when you have pulled some of it through tighten the bolt back up and then give it a try, before you tighten it up make sure the little adjusted is screwed in all the way then when you have tightened the cable up you can then adjust it further using this adjuster on the end of the cable.

now the only other problem you may have with the gears is that over time the gear cable becomes weak and therefore goes stretchy this can cause the gears to be loose and not change correctly so if the gears dont work after adjusting then this would suggest you need to get new cables for the gear system.

this link will show you how to replace a cable so it will tell you and show you what i have just told you.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Need to no year make and model of trek bike bye

Hi

Trek's serial numbers are on the underside of the bottom bracket. Flip the bike over and read the letters and numbers. It will look like this :

9000697000480

This would be a Trek 9000, made in June 1997 and number 480 off the production line.

Hope this makes sense and you can decipher your bike. Vote for me if this helps, thanks.

My new Brakes Tektro Novela are sqeaky and noisy.

A lot of pads are unfortunately. They will become a little better after a few hours of riding as they do "bed-in" a bit but the longer wearing the brake pad is the noisier it will usually be.
