Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. Ur tv does nt support 3D. U can still see 3D if connected to PC. With power DVD 11 u can able to watch anaglyph 3D.Dnt get confused any standard screen (e.g. CRT (big boxes with curved screen)) can view anglyphic 3D content.

Yes, it is located on the back of the lamp housing, you take the screws out of the fan duct and move it out of the way then there is a screw at the bottom of the thermal fuse on the back of the lamp housing unscrew it and pull the thermal fuse up and it will come out install a new one then put it all back together.

Buying a new TV would save time most definitely, if it's in really bad shape the repair costs would add up pretty huge. Buying a broken TV with an intact screen might work as long as you can prove it's exporting signal though. If time means anything, and you have experience in engineering, I'd say go with buying a broken TV, otherwise based off your description, just buy a new system.

I would first suggest checking where lamp plugs into the two pins that the replacement lamp went in correctly----it is not uncommon for it to push the contacts away (not engage correctly) and you will be able to see this with the lamp removed---red should be lamp light failure and most of these have a self check button sequence based on actual model number.

My guess is that it is not economical to fix as it needs new screen. Unless it's under warranty but then you would not be asking. I had an off brand tv that I sold at my Radioshack franchise year ago. I had a customer get a tv with one white pixel constantly on. I replaced it for him. When I called the mfg, they informed me that this was allowable error in the b grade displays they used in their TVs. I quit selling them and put the bad one in my Rv. Still ticked me off when I watched it

Yes it is. It's a cheep fix. The fans are on ebay. If you have the manual for the TV. Look in the specs for the TV and locate the fan. You will see the voltage and rpm of the motor. One of two possible issues:1. Lamp is nearing end of life and may dim just before total failure.2. A few of these models have 2 mirrors(check with Mitsubishi to see if yours is one) A large mirror in back (never gives a problem and do not try to clean it. Some idiot in these sets used a small mirror inside that the optical unit shines the picture into (wedge shaped mirror and small) and it is facing up----the fans intake air from the front of the set around this mirror--it gets coated with lots of dust---Picture can loose up to 70% of its brightness and clarity if that mirror is dirty--looks like 20 year old set .If you do not wish to check with Mitsubishi GOOGLE THE MODEL NUMBER with "mirrors" to see.If it has 2 mirrors I can tell you exactly how to get at it.SD TECH

I have a blinking yellow light and tv won't turn on

You have to remove the lower panel on the back of your tv, then remove the light engine. Unhook the wires attached to the DMD board. Remove the DMD board. Remove the heat cink from the DMD board. remove the optical lens but don't touch the lens. There is a video on shopjimmy.com that shows the entire procedure. Takes 2 hours. The optical lens can be cleaned with an eyeglass cloth, same for the DLP chip lens. no wet solutions on lenses. Remove dust from other internal parts with compressed air in a can. Your picture will be clean and clear. Wear latex gloves and make sure you are grounded to prevent static electricity.

There are a number of reasons this could happen and unfortunately not much that you can solve. If you have a backlight control in the menu you could try turning this down to see if the problem is reduced or cleared. This won't help you but the info may help a tech.

Suspect the bulb/lamp has failed. If you didn't get the factory replacement the cheap ones sometimes only last or a few weeks, unfortunately.

Chances are you have something wrong in the main board..replace it and things should be back to normal or try a hard reset

pop sound i would think a main capacitor has gone, on the power board. it could be just the capacitor or the voltage regulator has gone as well and blown the capacitor. it could also be the diode that has for pins has + & - on it with 2 squiggly lines on it when this goes it can go with a bang and there will be no power light or anting, and it also blows the 5 volt side of the tv. so all the parts would need replacing.
