Dust compartment lid won't close
Hi
Depending on the filter you have, you need to check that the filter grid has been securely locked in at the back. Check that it "snaps" down and locks into place. Then check the position of the bag. If the bag is sitting on the rising bag lock slider then the hinged slider needs to be pushed down into the bin. Usually the lid will close and lock down if you remove the hose. Try this to see if it works. Then check to see that the bag is opened out where the hose usually goes - if the mouth of the bag (and this also includes the new HyClean range with the seals already built in) looks out of angle then it has slipped upwards. This usually happens if the bag hasn't been folded out properly and can take milliseconds to put right.
Then put the hose back in and lock into place.

Miele Vacuum SEB 234/236 Roller Brush Issue
If the roller brush of your Miele vacuum SEB 234/236 only spins when you manually hold down the switch, it indicates that there is a problem with the electronic circuit or mechanical parts responsible for engaging the brush. This could be caused by a faulty connection, a broken wire, or a malfunctioning switch. It's recommended to have the vacuum serviced by a professional to diagnose and fix the issue.
My Miele C3 cat/dog won't adjust off of the min power setting. 6 years old, out of warranty, light use.
It sounds like there may be an issue with the power control system on your Miele C3 cat/dog vacuum. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
- Check the power control switch: Make sure that the power control switch is functioning properly and that it is able to move freely through all of the power settings. If the switch is stuck or damaged, it may be causing the vacuum to remain on the minimum power setting.
- Check for debris in the power control system: Debris can sometimes accumulate in the power control system and cause it to malfunction. To check for debris, turn off the vacuum and unplug it from the electrical outlet. Locate the power control system and use a small brush or compressed air to carefully clean it.
- Check for a clog in the hose or suction path: A clog in the hose or suction path can cause the vacuum to lose suction and remain on the minimum power setting. To check for a clog, remove the hose and use a flashlight to look for any blockages. If you find a clog, use a broom handle or similar object to carefully remove it.
If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, it is possible that there is a problem with the power control system or another internal component of the vacuum. In this case, it may be necessary to have the vacuum repaired or serviced by a professional.
Miele s571 vacuum cleaner power surges up and down
I just repaired the same problem. It is not the motor. There is a defective capacitor in the regulator. Large grey capacitor should have a value of 0.22uF/275V. It was in my case just 85uF. Changed capaitor and it was OK.
My Miele s8 cat and dog vacuum dust compartment keeps filling up with dust and cat hair
I see this all the time. The red or blue bag holder has either started to bow or it's legs aren't seated on the top of the little depressions. Check that and when you fit new bag remove the hose and check the little door on the bag is open and not closed if it's closed all the rubbish will fill the bag container rather than the bag. If this if the case buy new bag holder common problem.
Miele SKCR3 how to open vacuum cleaner
Slide the lever on top of the dirt to the side, lift the cup up slightly, and pull it straight out of the vacuum. On most models, the lever will slide to the left. Disassemble the dirt cup by popping the plastic top off the cup.
