Magic Mill Food Mixers - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support
My kitchen aid mixer model k45 will only operate
Hi REINO66,
I suspect you (speed) Control Plate Assembly has gone bad and needs to be
replaced.
The good news
is that this can be fixed quite easily (OK, maybe with a little effort) by
yourself if you are a DITY type person, feel adventurous, and your mixer is not under warranty. However, before you start to disassemble your
mixer, be sure you have the Parts List manual on hand. If you're lacking one, you can download a PDF
version from the KA website: http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home.
Click
on Customer Care>Locate Manuals &
Guides> Enter the 6 character model number, in your case use K45SSW, and
select the file listed under Parts List
(1), K45SSWH0.pdf (341.41 KB). Check
to ensure it matches your mixer model.
Turn
to pages 6 & 7, titled: Motor And Control Parts, which provides an exploded
view for the disassembly and reassembly of your mixer’s electrical components,
along with all the parts. Find Illus. No.
25, Control Plate Assembly, Part No. 240904-2, which is the part that needs to
be replaced.
As
far as parts go, here are four potential vendors in no particular order:
RepairClinic.com; mendingshed.com; searspartsdirect.com; partstore.com. Prices for the same part can vary widely
between vendors, so do your comparison shopping.
Here
are some links to several excellent websites that detail the
disassembling/reassembly of a KA Mixer.
Between
these three websites and their excellent pictures and descriptions and your
Parts List manual, you should now be able replace your Control Plate Assembly.
Good luck and have
fun. I hope this helps. Howard, Burke,
VA

You may be having a problem with the motor brushes and/or bearings.
Pin that secures roller is stuck in the down
What is the make and model of your mixer?
If there is a possibility that some food could have dripped onto the pin, it could be creating problems with the mechanism. If you are able to remove the bowl, try the tipping the arm into a bowl of hot water in hopes of loosening up any food debris in the mechanism. Power cord disconnected of course. :-)
It is possible that there is a spring inside the mechanism that has failed. If this is the case, it will need to be disassembled for repair.
I look forward to hearing back from you regarding the make and model of your unit. :-)
Dough hook
if you r using it for dough use the roller and scraper it works much better. But if u want to use the dough hook the holes in the middle is where the knob and stick in the arm go into to hold the hook inplace and it also goes in the hole on the side near the scraper hope this helps
Noise level
its possible that you got a lemon off the factory line or they forgot to put grease into the transmission case.is there a warranty on it?if so take it back.i work for hobart which sold kitchen aid some years ago,if that mixer is less than a year old as stated, take it back or verbally speak to a kitchen aid rep. and tell them your situation.i really belive you should be able to get a replacement as long as you havent overloaded the unit or caused damage.let me know.
Magic mill DLX 2000 base sent to repair place
I just found my old invoice where I had sent my DLX to be repaired a few years ago. (I had not put in enough moisture and it walked off the (rickety) table I had set it on...)
I need to send it back again and hence my search for the info.
The gentleman I sent it to was Mordechai Roth at Magic Mill Corp in Monsey, NY (10952) This occurred back in 2000, I can't believe I saved the receipt...
Phone number is 914-368-2532 (If it's still good) I am calling tomorrow to see about sending mine in... Hope you find yours...

Crypto peerless mixer model EL 20 I need a work shop manual
I've recently started exploring the use of cryptocurrencies and I'm curious about how to best use them for everyday transactions like buying goods and services. I know that it's getting more popular, but I'm not sure how it works in practice. Can anyone explain the best practices for using cryptocurrencies for payments? Are there specific platforms or methods that are more secure and user-friendly?
