No remote code for universal exists, you must use the logitech remote

Take the batteries out for 5 minutes and refit them.

Just remove the bateries, press number 2 and keep it pressed until you place the batteries again! worked for me and its seems to work with other users!

Press on it with both thumbs in the depressed area and push down and toward the end.  There is a small latch behind the depressed area.  By pushing down as well as toward the end of the unit you should be able to get the latch to release and the cover will slide toward the end.

Maybe your using relatively cheap batteries with a low capacity.

I would try GP powerbank batteries or simular with charger with a high capacity like GP 2300. If it still drain quickly there is something wrong with your remote.

I think what is happening with your tv is it does not see the signal. If there is no signal going to the tv it will not let you select the source you like, in this instant HDMI 1. What you probably need to go do is look at you dishtv set top box and go to that box's menu and enable hdmi output. Hope this helps.
