WM0642HW LG water level is too low.I want to get

YES YOU CAN RAISE THE WATER LEVEL ! Raise the top of the washer lid by removing the 4 dispenser screws. Push side of dispenser tabs to drop dispenser down off from lid. Using an opener or flat item, insert into lid front edge to depress inward the metal top hold down clip. Do the left side first then the right side. Raise the lid. You'll see the water level sensor switch on the inner cabinet upper right side. You will see a set screw for a phillips screwdriver. Slowly turn that screw CLOCKWISE about a quarter turn. With washer cylinder emply, and holding detergent dispenser assembly upright so it won't spill water into inner cabinet area, start the washer. You will see the water level rise to a higher set point than just to the edge of the gray cylinder baffels.I have set mine to fill to the edge of the rubber door seal. I wouldn't go any higher than that. I see no need for the water level going over onto the glass window area.Ever since i raised the water level so my clothing tumbles in water instead of wicking up water as before and only becomming fully saturated nearing the end of the wash segment. The new adjustment has ended all of the complaints i had earlier about this washer not cleaning or rinsing well. My laundry is clean the first time around and all my washer needed was a few more gallons of water to work with. LG themselves were of NO help when i called dozens of times before .They just gave me the run around and never a straight answer about the water level except nothing could be done, it was based on laundry load weight, too bad so sad. That was TOTALLY UNTRUE! I found out how to adjust it by another owner of the LG WM0642HW posting this info on how to raise the water level, and how to go about doing it.I've not had to do a single rewash since turning that water level switch higher.Honestly!

LG WM3988HWA water filling drum and overflowing during dry cycle

Solution for finding the right part, the (5 way) Valve assembly:Part Number: AP4998623 made by LGhttp://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5520795I got the company link from LG. If the link does not work, go the the main website and enter in the model number. appliancepartspro(.)comp.s. I found a service manual for my unit when I removed (by unscrewing) the inside plastic piece of the pump filter. It was located to the right, in a plastic bag.p.s.s. I checked my water pressure, it was 90psi. I think this is why my flow limiter 'shot out' the valve and into the tubing.p.s.s.s. The dryer heater assembly, the duct out, fan, and tubing was filled with so much lint, I was surprised anything could get through.

Lg tromm washer leaking from front door

We have the same problem with our LG washer. Don't think the door can be adjusted but I'm not for sure. I think the gasket is wore out but haven't checked on fixing the problem yet because it barely leaks.

LG WM1812CW washer smell

What is the mater with us that we are accepting this outrageous product flaw?

Let's put the blame exactly where it belongs and keep it there until manufacturers clean up their act!

What in the world are we thinking when we allow ourselves to be forced to jump through these ridiculous hoops just do do laundry!?

I am furious and it is over something as stupid as a washing machine! A WASHING MACHINE!!!!

New government regulations for new water efficiency washing machines has my family’s clothing smelling like a stinking, rancid, moldy basement! This is absolutely absurd! I have been told to change laundry detergent, run hot bleach water through my washer and, get this; my washing machine is 1 year old and my clothes smell filthy!!! The mold and mildew from these nasty machines have wreaked havoc through skin rashes and allergies in my children!

I paid $1,000.000 for this da*ned washing machine and THIS is what is being sold to the public under the disguise of efficiency!!?? I have been on the phone about this problem. I have, over the past 3 months, with a technician on the phone, been instructed to do the following:

*Make sure I use high efficiency detergent THAT will fix my problem.
Wrong.
*Cleaned the lint trap (..that is stupidly behind a metal access plate that you have to use a screwdriver to remove screws to get to it EVERY TIME) and THAT will fix my problem.
Wrong!
*Cleaned the water hoses; THAT will fix my problem.
Wrong!
*Cleaned the gasket around the door. THAT will fix my problem
Wrong!
*Cleaned the tub with bleach water. THAT will fix my problem.
WRONG!
*REMOVED the hoses and cleaned the pump. THAT will fix my problem.
WRONG AGAIN!
*Take the pump out entirely and clean all inlet, outlets and hoses. THAT will fix my problem.
WRONG! WRONG!! WRONG!!!

NONE of this fixed my problem of filthy, wet, stinking, rancid clothing that has endangered my family's health! I even washed my children's clothing out by hand in the bathtub and put them in the washer just to rinse and spin and they STILL smelled horrific.

Finally, at the end of my rope, I returned to the appliance store from which I purchased this machine and they have told me that they cannot accept a return. They will not accept a return and I have to deal directly with GE. I HAVE dealt with GE up until the final straw when I they told me I needed a new pump, but so sorry, your warranty JUST expired 3 days ago!!!

Furthermore, my pump was fine. I did NOT need a new pump and have now been told that I cannot return the new, unused pump that cost me another $183.00. I have now been told that this is a problem with ALL front loading washing machines and I should do the following:

*First, run a full complete wash cycle on hottest setting containing Bleach – * Note: wash cycle takes 1 hour and 20 minutes
*Next, run a full wash cycle on hottest setting using high efficiency laundry detergent for another 1 hour and 20 minutes
*Next, run a full wash cycle on hottest setting using Cascade automatic dish washing detergent for an ADDITIONAL 1 hour and 20 minutes
*Next, using Bleach water, wipe down entire interior of washing machine
*Next, using clean white cloth, wipe entire interior of washing machine dry
*Next, leave door ajar to air out machine

*Finally, I have now been informed that I cannot use fabric softener in the machine even though there is a fabric softener dispenser right in the machine because the new front loading machines cannot handle fabric softener!!

Furthermore, I was told that this is new technology and since it is so new, no one really knew these kinds of problems were going to manifest themselves and I just need to try to work with these problems because it is not the manufacturers fault but the GOVERNMENT’S fault! Sorry.

Are you kidding me??

Now I have a $1000.00 piece of junk that the appliance companies are pawning off on unsuspecting consumers and hiding their horrible designs by blaming the government.

So, now this is what I want!

I want the legislature to force manufacturers to properly inform the public of these problems and those who did NOT inform consumers of these issues, COMPENSATE their customers for the $$$$$ it has cost us and the misery and frustration caused by THEIR neglect by NOT informing the consumers of these issues. I want this to be retroactive BACK to at least the year 2005. Furthermore, I want compensated for the cost of buying a top loading washing machine in an effort to keep our families away from the mold and mildew and filthy mess this has caused! Finally, I want manufacturers to own up to the fact that they disregarded the health and safety of consumers in their efforts to profit as much as possible while touting efficiency.

Now I have heard that they have a new 'product' they can sell to us to inhibit the stench of mold and mildew. This is absolutely unacceptable!

This is outrageous and we need to speak out about this and make sure our voices are heard!

Ue error code on the display

For "ue" an unbalanced load is sensed three times, re-adjust your load in the machine.

For e1, it could be a water sensor problem. Check to see if the inlet valve is okay and not clogged, water shd be in good pressure. If this is okay, open up behind after taking the plug off the wall. There is a thin tube coming from the switch area to the outlet pump area; disconnect this from the top carefully and blow into it, it should be free; if it is clogged you will hav a water level problem. Unblock and refit carefully.

How do I stop the old water smell (earthy odor) in my LG front load washer?

All washers keep a certain amount of water in them, though front loaders, especially the newer ones, are prone to odors. This is because the are more energy efficient and use less water. That can result in more residue being left behind on the outside of the wash drum where you cannot see it or access it to clean. Some things that are helpful:
  1. Do not close the door of the washer after use. It will allow the interior to vent and dry out, reducing odors.
  2. Use only the recommended detergents, and in the amounts recommended. Many people use too much soap in HE washers. A tiny bit goes a long way.
  3. Use a front loading machine cleaner - they are sold in most grocery stores. These help clear the residue from the drum, reducing odors.

Start/pause button doesn't work

I had this problem with another model LG washer dryer and the problem was just the tiny switch (6mm x 6mm) on the circuit board had worn out. They cost about 30 pence on eBay and are very easy to remove and re-solder onto the circuit board as there are only 2 pins. This saved a huge amount of money for a new control board.

Washer leaks

There is also a discharge lint filter on the front lower left that has to seal properly. If the water appears only when washing, you can probably eliminate leaking from the water supply side up to the solenoids controlling the water. The most likely source is a leak in the rubber section between the tub and the front door, a leak in the seal between the door and the washer, a leak or overflow in the soap dispenser, or a leak in the discharge side components. You could probably figure out the source if you could view these areas during a cycle, but that would require some disassembly of the cabinet so that you would need to know what you were doing.

LG WM3001HPA washer (front load) - have to drain

Your drain pump assembly impeller has most likely deteriorated. I just replaced the assembly on my unit. There are actually two small motor/pumps. I would recommend replacing them both. You will find the videos of how to do this on youtube. I bought the parts off of Amazon

Got an OE error, now it will not finish rinse and

The problem is in the drain system as what error code OE stands for.The grinding noise is coming from the drain pump. Loose change, hair pins and the likes can get into the pump filter and sometimes into the pump impeller causing a grinding noise during the spin cycle because the pump works while the machine is spinning. The pump impeller may also be broken causing the grinding noise.

Disconnect power then open the filter door on the bottom left of the cabinet.
jahn27_60.jpg

Remove the drain plug and drain the water out completely into a shallow basin or the likes. Once drained, lay a piece of towel under the filter then turn the filter knob counterclockwise and remove it. Clean the filter and reach in the pump impeller to check it if blocked or broken. If cleaning the filter does not solve the problem, you need to access the drain pump assembly and check the pump particularly the impeller thoroughly. Click on the link below for the detailed procedure in accessing the drain pump assembly.

Leaking water from front of door. Replaced boot seal but still leaking. It looks like door is kicked out at the bottom. Would replacing the hinges help?

Try turning the water pressure down. If you have high water pressure the water comes into the dispenser to hard and splashes over the front & side of the dispenser draw the trickles down the inside of the front panel out on to the floor. Very common front loader problem.
