I've found if you check the basics and the obvious first it's often something silly you've missed. Is there water in the tank? Yes, I've done that. How old is the machine? If the machine gets too hot through continuous use it will go into a "Safe" mode until it cools down. With the machine unplugged from the wall wait until it it totally cold. Open the water tank and drain as much water out as you can. At the bottom of the tank there should be a small plastic rocker arm. This is the water level switch. Use you finger and check it flops up and down. Refill the water tank and plug it back into the wall socket. Run the machine through the 'hot water Only' cycle twice. This can flush the pipes inside the machine. Let the machine cool down then put it through a Descaling cycle. Are all the spouts and nozzles clean and not clogged? There has to be some kind water sensor, either float or electronic - capacity sensing or optical. Look for that and check, maybe is dirty or not moving ( if float )

Sounds like a clogged steam pipe or a jammed two-way valve. First, I would try unfolding a small paper clip and then stick it up the spout of the steam pipe. if this does not free up the steaming arm then it is most likely a clogged two way valve.
