The distributor is the electronic tap that directs water to the ram to compress the grounds in the boiler and then redirects it to the brewing chamber to make the coffee, then to steam, then to rinse. A common place for a leak under the machine is the barista seal that goes in the bottom of the boiler around that eject rod. Barista seal part number is MS5002202, Seals on the tamping piston are MS5002040 (there can be 1 or 2 of these piston seals) If fixing the leaks does not fix error 6 then I expect it will end up being the distributor. Did you completely finish the descale process. On the models I'm familiar with you run thru the descale doing every step it requests then refill the tank and run thru the rinsing process until it ends completely. As far as I know there is no reset for errors, the problem needs to be located and fixed. I have no idea what the unplug icon may be indicating.
