How to rename a Kingston 4gb memory stick

The exact procedure depends on your operating system, but changing the volume name is usually very similar to renaming a file, e. g., in a file browser window showing the mounted drives, you would right-click on the memory stick icon and select "Rename..." from the pop-up menu, or double-click on the volume name to enable editing it. Of course, you must have write permission for the entire volume. Note: In some OS versions, you may not be able find "recent files" opened from that volume before you renamed it; you'd have to browse directly to the memory stick instead of using the recent files shortcuts.

Computer freezes with 4 mb Data Traveler

No idea what went wrong here, but when using a new USB drive (stick) first format it on the computer where you want to use it on. The best way to put there a file, is to download to your HD. When the download is ready copy the file to the external drive.

Hi there, Try the following: 1. Click Start > type "regedit" and open "Registry Editor". 2. Now follow the below path after opening registry editor :- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/StorageDevicePolicies. 3. Now you will see "Write Protection" option. Double click on that and set the value data to '0'. After setting the value data to '0' again try copying or formatting your sd card. After performing the above step you are still not able to format your sd card then continue to next step. Open Command Prompt and type diskpart and press Enter key. After opening diskpart type "list disk" and again press Enter button. Now type "select disk 1".

Kingston Data traveller USB password reset

Not knowing the model # makes it difficult to give you a difinitive answer. Kingston's support docs all say that after x mny failed logins the device will have to be formatted. The default # of failed logins seem to be 10. I think you're out of luck.

Im using micro sd 2gb

I have seen this many times, most of the time it's because the index file was writing or cleaning itself when you removed it. This is what the "EJECT" is when you right click. As a matter of course, you should always 'eject' the media before removing it. (It doesn't physically pop the media out, it really should be called "Shut Down Media XXXXX" So in most cases, there's nothing you can do except send it off to a data recovery service and be prepared to shell out a bunch of money.

Driver memory stick

Try putting the ram in another computer and see if you have the same problem. If the issue goes away one of the sticks of ram might not have been fully seated. If you get the same result you have a bad stick of ram. Go to the manufactures website and download ram checker and install it (free software). This will help diagnose your problem. If you get an error code write it down so you can give it to the manufacturer which indicates which error problem you have... If it turns out that you have a bad stick of ram contact the manufacturer and they may send you another stick of ram. Some manufacturers have a lifetime warranty on their ram. Hope this helps.

My TransFlash 2.0 memory card doesn't show on my lap top

First, the basics... There are three kinds of SD cards (SD, SDHC and SDXC). Not all computers are designed to accept all three types. SD cards can store up to 2GB of data, SDHC can store up to 64GB of data, and SDXC cards can store up to 2TB (terabytes) of data. If you are unsure which types of cards your laptop or computer will accept, visit the manufacturer's web site and look for the specifications for your particular model to be sure. It's tempting to want to buy an SD card with a large data capacity, but it's wasted money if your computer will not work with the high capacity card. Make sure you have inserted the card correctly (and fully). The card is 'keyed' (with a notch in one corner) so it should only fit into the SD card slot one way *easily*. Obviously you can try to force the SD card into the slot the wrong way, but the position which goes in the easiest is probably the right way. Some devices have a symbol beside the slot indicating which way the card should be inserted. Be careful, though. It is natural to think the the card should be inserted with the manufacturer's label facing up, but I've seen devices where the card should be inserted 'upside-down', contrary to what I thought. If you are using a Windows computer with a 'recent' version of the operating system (Windows Vista or later), the computer should recognize the card (as a newly attached piece of hardware) and show the card as a new drive letter when you open the Windows Explorer program to view your files and folders. If the card is new, it should be formatted already and can be used immediately, BUT...your computer may need to have a driver program (software that enables the use of specific hardware items). My laptop, for example, uses a driver from Ricoh to enable the SD card slots, and that driver had to be downloaded from the HP support site and installed before my SD card slots would recognize SD cards. If you know you have the correct SD card device driver installed, have an SD card that will work with your computer but still do not see the card in Windows Explorer, you can check in the Windows Device Manager to check its status. You can also use the Disk Management features of Windows to check what drive letter has been assigned to the drive. If the SD card has been assigned a drive letter already used by another drive, then it will not be available in Windows Explorer. If you think any of these last problems I mentioned are part of your issue, reply here and I can see if I can help you further.
