These alarm panels receive 16.5 VAC from a small wall adapter that is wired into the keybus and labeled 'AC'. Have a certified alarm company or installer check your system for faults and get things in order.

Download the manual. I can't remember if it is in the User's Manual or the Programming Manual but a sequence to reset the security code is detailed in one of them. Also, it soulds like the telephone line was wired through the system for full seizure. To defeat this, you will need to take it out of the phone lines at the outside telco box. How it is wired is that the alarm panel intercepts the telephone line first and then feeds the circuit back out to the main junction where the telco comes into the house.

Hot is ok in an alarm box, especially inside where you see your finned heatsink and capacitors, if it beeps it might be because you have a communication problem, a weak backup battery or else. Check if you have any codes being displayed on your LCD or LED and check in the signification in your user manual if any. If you are connected to an alarm central they should be able to tell you what is the problem by connecting remotelly to your system. If not, well I need more details.!

Those of you having problems with the beeping on the Westinghouse systems when the doors/windows open. The solution on the XL4600 is #6 this should slience that!

The default master access code is 1-2-3-4, try it to see if this works.

Take it off the wall, remove the batteries, and unplug it or snip the wires leading to it.

Check that you are not using an app that is continuously accessing the internet and communicating with a server for some reason that is using the phones WiFi or mobile channel. This will drain battery life if incorrectly configured etc ( i.e selecting access to your location, services and other info )

I install these panels.  For the low battery message to clear you need to power the system down completely.  To do this you need to unplug the battery and also unplug the transformer plugged into an electrical outlet.  When you power the system back up, you need to first plug in the battery leads.  Then the transformer.

All wireless security motions have a 3 min delay built into them. This means that whether the alarm is set or not when the motion detector picks up motion it shuts down for 3 min and will not pick up motion. This is done to conserve battery power. So I always advise customers to arm the system and stay away from the motion for 3 min total. example: 60 sec to arm system + 2min wait time. then try to trigger motion. I would start by power cycling your system. Remove the battery & power. After waiting 10 minutes or so reconnect the battery and then power. Other than that you need to be a bit more specific with your issues.

Everyone: If you are not going to answer the question DON’T POST. The question is not how to install a new battery. The question is not how to reset the system. original poster knows the battery is low. They know that pressing status tells them the problem. They know pressing disarm stops the beeping alarm for only 4 hours. The problem is it takes DAYS to get a replacement battery because only found through mail order. The unit runs on AC. So how do we get it to stop being annoying short of killing the AC, and pulling the battery -which is not logical to have to disarm for days just to get the darn thing to stop being annoying.

How to keep protecting my house, using the available AC power, without annoying alarm beeping during the night and starting its every minute beeping every four hours all day. Totally bad design if no way to shut up a known battery problem.

I usually find remotes on Ebay for anything cheap.
