On most Fellowes ideal unjamming would be by trying the reverse, if that fails there's 2 options: 1 - opening the unit by removing screws (usually 5) and using small narrow flat screwdriver carefully clearing out all the stuck paper/cardboard from in between two rollers, but be carefull and make sure the power cord is NOT plugged into wall socket. 2 - without dissassembling the unit spray some WD-40 into the shredders feed opening and let that cardboard soak for a while. WD-40 will soak into cardboard and any stuck paper and will loosen it, you might need to spray couple of times allowing to soak in between sprays, but this definitely does the trick. Once sprayed 2-3 times allowing to soak for at least 10 minutes between sprays simply swich the shredder on and use reverse and all stuck paper should come out. Be advised after unit was cleared you must use some spray oil to protect the blades. Once oiled allow unit to run in reverse for at least 2 minutes, the swich it off. 15-20 minutes later your shredder will be good as new!! Hope this helps ;)

Sorry, but no. There isn't really a way, unless you are very technically minded, to take the teeth apart and clean them. You might try, using a paperclip, I find that I have to do that on occasion to clear out the pieces that get caught in between the teeth. or maybe, just a thought,?... You can use a product called goof off, it does come in a aerosol can as well, in addition to small bottles of the product in liquid form. Good luck.

I found a website called shredderparts.com that sells replacement parts for Fellowes paper shredders, including gears, switches, and spare parts for the cutting head. Unfortunately, I could not find a gear with the exact specifications you mentioned. However, they do have a 39 tooth second stage drive gear that is compatible with the Fellowes P-45C shredder. They also have a 41 tooth 7 tooth primary drive gear that might be compatible with your shredder. You can contact them at 1-800-634-9329 to check if they have the gear you need in stock.

If it is just a matter of the power switch, that is an easy part to replace. It might also be that one of the leads to the switch has come loose (some shredders just use the slip-on connectors) and needs to be put back on. Also, if the wires are attached to the switch, have you tried touching the wires from the switch and seeing if the shredder will work then. You can use a short piece of insulated wire to act as a jumper cable to touch the two wires going to the switch. If this doesn't allow the shredder to operate (you need to have something pressing down on the safety switch), then you need a new shredder.

I had this happen where I worked and I elected to fix it. You have to remove the screws in the base, and IIRC the ends. Then I used a knife to cut the laminate pouch and pull out the pieces with pliers. If you can turn it on without damaging the machine or zapping yourself, the heat will help. Yes you can, you can also spray it with WD40, leave it an hour, spray it again and run a few sheets of plain paper through it. WD40 is kerosene based.

I wish the manual said to clean the sensors. I had the whole thing apart. Cleaned her real good. Put it back together. Still a red light indicating a paper jam. I read this post, really helpful! Cleaned the sensors. We are back up and running!

Purchase a 220/240 volt to 15.6/15.6 volt transformer and run flying wires as it will probably be larger in physical size.I used a M7230 from Aztronics/Altronics.Silicon the transformer in place to stop it falling apart while in its place.

PS-79C Issue was the bin light came on (when the bin was out), but the power wouldn't come on and no other lights. Just called the 800 number above (800-945-4545) and was told to jiggle the power switch - worked!! (The power switch on the top, not the one by the power cord). I guess it doesn't quite seat onto the internal circuit board switch quite right. Yay, working again! Then I got lectured to oil it once a month or every bin full, which I haven't been doing...
