You bought a washing machine from a company that makes vacuum cleaners :>D
Dyson is not the company it used to be. I am very disillusioned by them.
Drill a 1/8" hole carefully into the plastic, insert a nail or screw in a screw and use the nail/screw as a new metal handle.
Or you could phone Dyson and have an interesting conversation with their support staff (the ones that told me my Dyson DC12 was no longer supported and was scrap).
And good luck with spares (do I sound bitter :>)

Okay so let's open up search to all the Dyson washing machine models CR1 and CR2, at least the door catch is the same ... but

Why was the Dyson washing machine discontinued?
Dyson's products didn't always prove a success, however. For instance the CR01 washing machine (a machine which mimicked the actions of hand washing with two contra-rotating drums) ended up being discontinued
because its production cost the company too much.

My advice, get a crowbar and lever the door open, get your clothes out and buy a Whirlpool. Love mine and 100% reliable after 12 years. Good luck with whatever you decide.
