I followed the instructions above and have my tea kettle working again. ( i did not test the relay as above, just replaced it).Thank you so much for your help Mr. Woolverton. A few points from my experience:1-There are special screwdrivers available for the triangular slots in the screws on the base of this kettle. A package of 32 "security drivers" including various sized drivers cost me $15 at my nearby electronics store. Individual ones might be a lot less expensive, but I figure the others will come in handy in the future.2-I could not locate the original relay part by Song Chuan but did find the Omron brand. I highly recommend Digikey.com, where I bought item Z3080-ND for $6.22 including USPS standard shipping. Got the part in 2 days. They even use recyclable packaging. Use the Chat option to ask questions. Very helpful.3- Desoldering a tiny part on a circuit board is not easy. This is especially true when the part is connected to the board in 6 locations. I went to Youtube and saw how to do this first. The use of a flux-covered piece of braided wire, designed for this purpose, was most helpful. $4.22 I also used an inexpensive Solder Sucker $6.95 to help. Both obtained at the neighborhood electronics part store. The guy threw in a bit of flux for the braided wire without charge. All this stuff is reusable and went into my soldering kit.The rest went without a problem. You need a soldering iron that can reach into a small spot without hitting nearby sites on the board.Overall, the repair cost very little and saved a $75-$90 item from the landfill. All the parts except the relay are usable again on other projects - and I learned a lot. Thanks again, Stephen WoolvertonFollow up 2+ years later Jan 2019- kettle still working with no additional problems. Was worth the effort.
If your Cuisinart bread machine is not baking the bread properly, there could be a few potential causes for the issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to identify and resolve the problem:
1. Check the Bread Pan: Ensure that the bread pan is properly inserted into the machine and securely locked in place. Make sure it is centered and seated correctly.
2. Check the Kneading Paddle: Verify that the kneading paddle is properly installed in the bread pan. It should be securely attached to the spindle at the bottom of the bread pan.
3. Use Fresh Ingredients: Ensure that you are using fresh and high-quality ingredients, including flour, yeast, and other additives. Old or expired ingredients can affect the bread's rising and baking process.
4. Verify Yeast Activation: Make sure that the yeast you are using is active and not expired. Test the yeast by dissolving it in warm water with a small amount of sugar. If it doesn't become foamy and bubbly within a few minutes, the yeast may be inactive, and you should replace it.
5. Check the Program Settings: Confirm that you have selected the correct program for the type of bread you are making. Different programs have different settings for kneading, rising, and baking. Make sure you are using the appropriate program for your recipe.
6. Monitor the Dough: Throughout the kneading and rising process, observe the dough to ensure it is properly formed and rising. If the dough seems too dry or too wet, adjust the recipe accordingly by adding small amounts of flour or water.
7. Inspect the Heating Element: If the bread machine completes the cycle but the bread is not baked, there may be an issue with the heating element. Inspect the heating element for any signs of damage or malfunction. If it appears faulty, it may need to be replaced. In such cases, contacting Cuisinart customer support or a qualified technician for further assistance is recommended.
By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve common issues that may prevent your Cuisinart bread machine from properly baking the bread.
If the steamer function is not working on your Cuisinart steamer/convection oven, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Check Power and Settings: Ensure that the steamer/convection oven is properly connected to a power source and turned on. Make sure you have selected the correct steaming function and set the desired time and temperature.
2. Water Level: Check the water level in the steaming reservoir or water tank. Some steamers require a minimum amount of water to generate steam. Ensure that the water level meets the manufacturer's recommended guidelines.
3. Water Reservoir Placement: Confirm that the water reservoir is correctly placed in the steamer/convection oven. It should be securely seated in its designated position.
4. Steam Vent: Ensure that the steam vent or release valve is not blocked or obstructed. Any blockage in the steam vent can prevent steam from being released properly. Clean any debris or buildup that may be affecting the vent.
5. Steam Function Timing: Some steamers require preheating before steam is generated. Consult the user manual to determine if the steamer/convection oven requires preheating and for how long. Allow sufficient time for the steamer to reach the appropriate temperature.
6. Clean the Steamer: If the steamer has not been used for an extended period, it may have accumulated mineral deposits or limescale. Clean the steamer according to the manufacturer's instructions to remove any buildup that could be affecting its performance.
7. Contact Cuisinart Support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's recommended to reach out to Cuisinart customer support for further assistance. They can provide specific troubleshooting steps for your model or advise on potential hardware issues that may require repair or replacement.
When contacting customer support, provide them with the model number, a detailed description of the issue, and any troubleshooting steps you have already attempted. This information will help them assist you more effectively.

Try replacing the small transistor 9013 on the lower circuit board. On the circuit it will say heater near certain wires and there will be a big black box relay that turns the heater on and off. I got my transistors from fairchild semiconductor. The circuits are below the control panel on the right hand side.
Hold in the stop/pause button for about 15 seconds - it will reset the breadmaker. Then you should be able to make your selections. Unplugging the breadmaker for longer than 15 minutes will also reset it.
The solution could be more complicated than you want.
The following is one persons solution.

I've just fixed my ck17 which had similar symtoms. There are 2 electrolytic capacitors in the controller board, which I replaced. It's very close to the bottom of the kettle where the elements is,and they are only rated at 105degrees, .one of them had evidence of leaking, so I replaced.them both, with higher voltage ones ,also rated at 105degrees.
1000uf 6.3v replaced with 1000uf 16v
47uf 25v replaced with 47uf 50v
Hi,
Please check whether this issue persists with lower viscosity dough. It could be the pressure and/or thickness of the dough that's causing the disconnection. Or it your device is over a certain age you might need to replace the mixing paddle or replace the part that holds it still within the bread maker. You can call Cuisinart to ask if there has been a recall due to this as well. Their phone number is 1-800-726-0190
Thank you.
Plug your machine in and push the menu button again and again are the numbers changing from program to program? If not push the start/stop button with no ingredients in it and if it starts kneading wait a few seconds then push the start/stop button again UNTIL IT BEEPS AND STOPS. Unplug the machine and plug it in again and the program 1 should show again, just push the Menu button until you see the number 9 program. Did that work?
The Instruction Booklet for the Cuisinart CPT-180C Classic Metal 4-Slice Toaster can be found at the following link:http://www.cuisinart.ca/pdf/ibs/en/CPT-180C_en.pdfNot sure what you are trying to open. There is a slide out catch tray for cleaning crumbs. There is no information in the booklet that suggests a need or a way to open the toaster.Perhpas reviewing the booklet will answer your question.
Mine had the same problem. It ended up being the black box relay on the circuit board. I cut it open and it was rusted / corroded inside. It would click but it would not send any current to the heating coil. Not sure if you can get replacement parts from Cuisinart.
The same thing happened to me yesterday. I made my first loaf and then I couldn't get the bread pan out. We kept pulling and yanking on the bread pan until it felt like it was going to break! This morning, my husband called Cuisinart. The man on the phone said he has the same machine at home, and that you just have to pull it really hard. He said don't worry, it won't break, just pull it. My husband pulled it again and it came out. I guess he just got the right angle on it.
It was definitely stuck from the bottom, not from the side clamp things. The man on the phone at Cuisinart said that after you use it more, it becomes easier to remove the bread pan. We put the bread pan in and then pulled it out a few times, and it seems like now it comes out easily, the way it should.
I felt obliged to respond here, because I was very discouraged after reading this thread last night. I was about to return the machine. I hope this solution helps.
By the way, my first loaf yesterday was the Rosemary Bread from the cookbook that comes with the machine. It was AMAZING.
you have an high end kettle that will fail the temp sensor certainly has that's why it only stays on for a few seconds to a minuet, they are not made so they can be repaired.permanent bonded thermostats. micro processor etc all none repairable, any water getting to any part on this brand will make it not work correctly..
